Eminen announces there is NO Relapse 2...

After promising fans there would be a sequel to his 2009 comeback album, "Relapse," Eminem now says there will be no "Relapse 2."

"There is no Relapse 2," the Detroit rapper tweeted this morning (April 14). It was the rapper's first tweet since March 29th, in which he promised "some big news is coming. Soon," reigniting rumors of a "Relapes 2" release.

In an interview with AOL's the BoomBox last month, producer Just Blaze indicated that "Relapse 2" was near completion, saying, "I'm out in Detroit and we're wrapping that ['Relapse 2'] up now." Other leaked tidbits about the album came last year courtesy of Em's friend and producer The Alchemist, who told AllHipHop.com that the album sounds like "the most psychotic s---s I've ever heard," and DJ Whoo Kid, a member of Eminem's D-12 crew, who told MTV that "the crazy, lyrical, maniacal Eminem is back. Maniac!"

Wat...? What do you guys think? Title change? Publicity stunt?? What da fuuck...I was excited for this due to all the hype & what was being said about it. Like how his style was the Eminem we know & love, and Just Blaze has recently been quoted talking about wrapping up production for the album & even Alchemist has given a little information on it as well.

I think he's just making a new name for it all together and the Media is just helping to cause speculation & attention. Relapse 2 was probably just the pending/temporary name for it until he came up with another, maybe? I mean he just announced big news was coming on his Twitter page, now this....

by the way- there have been quite a few "sequel" album trilogies if you will

Eminem: Well, when I finished Relapse, I had a whole album of material that didn't make it that I wasn't ready to throw away, so that was going to be Relapse 2. But then I got with Dre in Hawaii and started recording more, and now the new material has knocked out all the old songs. But yeah, the new material is definitely different. Making Relapse, I was still working the drugs out of my system, so there was a lot of...just jokey ****. It was a lot of punchline-y, funny, shock value—kind of going back to The Slim Shady LP. And that was cool, but I've kind of flipped the page. Now I'm going for songs instead of one-liners. I don't want to make **** that you hear once and then the joke's over; I want to make records that you could play a hundred times, a thousand times.
