The Senate will re-address these two very dangerous bills on 1/24... The RIAA and MPAA may be contributing millions of dollars to lobby to get these passed to save their own skins, but we can contribute, too, thanks to Google:

Yeah, I had high hopes when they retracted it to amend the DNS stipulations, thinking it would just damage the intent of the bill all together, but no...
For those who have been interested in this, I highly recommend the Threat Level blog on Wired.com.

signed as well...I have seen such little support from anyone for both this and NDAA, so much for the government looking out for our best interests

To those who are peeking in and don't really have an idea as to what kind of impact this could have on you, I encourage you to read through this Technical Examination of SOPA/PIPA... Especially The Fallout section toward the end.

My highschool year book video is in violation and liable to get us sued for use of some songs.
If i start a company that larger companies deem not meeting SOPA/PIPA they can push to have it shut down. Odds are that will be abused in a competitive fashion.
Sports clips could possibly be an infringement and not allowed to be posted.
I wonder how this can be skewed into a way to remove negative reviews and such posted online.

The site is U.S. directed.
The owner or operator of the site is "committing or facilitating the commission of criminal violations punishable under section 2318, 2319, 2319A, 2319B, or 2320, or chapter 90, of title 18, United States Code." Those sections primarily deal with copyright infringement and counterfeit products.
The site would be subject to seizure if it were instead a domestic site.
