    Pushups/Bench Press

Is there any coorilation? My bench press numbers are inclining, but my push ups are staying exactly where they have always been. I can feel my chest and biceps and tris getting more defined, but i still have a LOT of extra weight I need to cut. Should I focus on doing push ups as much as BP?

There isn't much advantage to building up your pushups to help your bench - I have been in the same boat.

Even if you spread your hands further apart, pushups are still much more about the arms than the chest. Plus, a far spread means a short rise / fall, so not much movement.

Do them as a compliment, rather than a big assistance.

If your going to use them, do it right. Do some weighted pushups.

I put some weights in a backpack and do push ups, it makes them a lot harder. And use chairs so you can go all the way down.

The only thing about doing pushups that would help your bench is the time you took away from heavy lifting might translate into some rest and give you a chance to grow/increase strength. Apart from that, the push up itself isnt gonna up your bench ...unless you bench exactly how much you are pushing up? 100 lbs bench press?
