Tungsten, I honestly think the only great part about that movie was boot camp. Everything after that, minus the firefight, was mediocre. IMO

There was a part after boot camp?? Don't tell any Marines I said this, but I thought the whole movie sucked after the opening scene...
Basic was WAY more chaotic, and WAY more of a Hellhole that what was depicted in that movie. On top of that, the Senior would sit back as five drill instructors swarmed the squad bay, led by the Heavy who was the freakin devil himself....
FMJ is a walk in the park compared to real boot camp.AllPros FTW!

For this week I'm going to be running on a treadmill. Just to build up my endurance; after that all runs will be done outside.

Yea. January I want to be able to do 3 miles within 18:00. Doing two of them back to back every day that I can. Why?

I'd like to be linguist; however I will be choosing around the 26th (when I take my ASVAB). I'm studying all week long this week so I can get something that's not infantry. I'm not looking to go to combat at age 18..

Yup.
So I'm thinking for this week, depending on how it goes, maybe all of September as well, I'm just going to work on endurance runs. Then I'll be adding on speed either as I go along or after I can do long runs that are 6-12 miles. I'll let you guys know. I won't be running much next week as I'm going to MEPS/ASVAB"Anything is possible. As long as you want it, you'll work for it. Put a pull-up bar in your house/apartment/room and do them every day. Pyramid up from 1 as high as you can go resring about 45-60seconds between each set and then back down. You can do the push-ups at the same time but double the push-ups. So 1pull, 2 push, 2 pull, 4 push and so on...
And when ever your going to text your max do a warm up set of 5 or so first. My entire time in the Marines I would never see anyone do a warm up of pull-ups before a PFT. I can't hit a set of 20 without one.
Good luck.Semper Fi

So I haven't ran a 3 mile since early June; which my time was about 26:37
Today it went down to 24:40. However, my endurance sucks, and I'd like to power up my speed. Good thing I have until January to get to where I want to be at the rate I'm working"Anything is possible.
