Decided i will start a journal here to track my progress to my first meet.I will be competing in the 165s junior category.
Most recent training numbers are
Bench-295x2 paused
Squat 385x2 no belt
Deadlift 425x2 no belt
squat and bench i could have done more reps but the program i am on only called for that many.Just started back deadlifting like 3 weeks ago so that should shoot up. I am currently starting my last week of CanditoTraining. After this week i will test my maxes. Im hoping for 425 squat no belt,315 pause bench and 445 deadlift no belt.I will then plug my numbers into the 9 week russian peaking cycle and it will end a week before my meet so i will be able to rest/ practice my openers that week and cut my carbs low. bodyweight on my home scale is like 168 tonight. I was 171 last monday but went super low carbs to practice cutting and dropped to 166.Gonna up my carbs again for better workouts and start doing cardio on a stationary bike three times a week. Will be posting videos often. Here are some recent videos
That bench video i didnt really do legit pause on first rep but later that week i did legit pauses on both reps while carb depleted

I have been training since 12 when i was 64lbs.I honestly have ****ty genetics.Didnt know what i was doing back then.Senior year of high school iwas 135 but after wrestling season did a hardcore bulk to 155.My lifts were like 255 bench not paused,295 squat and like 315 deadlift at that time and i was 17.From there i bulked to 165 and got my lifts a lot higher by doing texas method.Got into the 170s but had some fat around the mid section.not a ton but i wasnt a ripped **** either.got to 180 for a few days and did 325 pause bench,445 squat with wraps and belt, didnt even deadlift lol.Went thru a bad break up and almost stopped eating completely couldnt focus. i was losing weight very quickly.lost a lot of fat but also lost muscle. went from 175 to 155 in like a month and a half.i was so stressed out. I could still bench 275 for 1 at 155 and squat 400 with a belt.Took me forever to get my body back into gaining weight.Got up to like with some fat and then recently started to stop eating so much wendys so it got back to 170s. i also upped my protein because that has never really been very high. Now im in the mid to high 160s so 165-170.about to start doing cardio and try to get to the leanest 165 i can for when i compete in January

Gotta learn to sit back more dude. The bar rolled probably because you didnt' have your upper back tight (and the fact that you didn't have on a shirt...)
Stick with texas method for now.
oh yeah...and GET A BELT!!!!!!! This is powerlifting, you get zero points for lifting the most beltless.

They also have some brand new lever belts for like $65, can't beat that price. You'll have to call about the levers cause they aren't online yet.***Georgia Crew***

Okay today I almost tore my pec so I had to back off. Was gonna see what benching with a belt was like.
275x1 paused very easy and fast
295 decided to touch n go real easy
315x1 paused. Felt good probably had 5-10 more lbs in me
315x1 touch n go felt something in my pec on this one
225x1 was gonna rep it out but after the first rep I felt that sharp pain on my pec tie in area and was like **** this I'm not snappin my **** up so I racked it
Did a few sets of rows afterwards then some shoulder flexibility stuff and some light shoulder raises. After that I was pretty much done I wasn't gonna risk anything. Next week is the start of Texas method. Right now I'm 166 on my crappy bathroom scale which is usually heavier than an official scale so probably 165 or 164 right now.thursday I'm suppose to deadlift and either Friday or Saturday is suppose to be a bench day but I'm not gonna go heavy. Probably just get blood in my chest and make sure it's not injured.might just do singles paused with 275 and 225. Vids coming soon of the lifts from today and a few of the ones from yesterday that I didn't post

Today was some deadlifting.I went ham on that ****.Bar speed was good up until about 365 and it kinda sucked. power from the floor sucked once igot to 365 too. did 405x2 felt horrible. i think my leverages are different from the weight loss and carb cutting.plus i started using a belt so thats kidna different too.Forgot to record the 405x2 vid.since power from the floor sucked i did deficit deads standing on two thick 45lb plates did 225x25 dead stop reps. burned like ****.will post videos of the 275 warm up and then the 225 deficit deads
So pretty much all that happened today was
Deadlift
225x3
225x1
275x2
315x2
365x2
405x2
Deficit deads
225x25

I just put together what I'll be doing for training leading up to the competition. Running the coan Philippi routine started the week after next and will be doing that on Fridays. Mondays will be volume squats with assistance. Starting out with 5x5 and adding weight for the next 4 weeks then switching to 5x3 for the remainder with a bit heavier increase the week I switch to 3s.probably gonna jump 10-15 lbs when switching to 5x3. From there on it will be 5 lbs per Monday. And whatever I end up at on my last week will be my opener at the meet because I will know I can easily hit it. Wednesday will be lighter squats just 3x5 starting at 275 to reinforce form and getting comfortable with low bar squatting.will add 5 each workout on that also. Tuesdays will be bench day I'm gonna run the 5x3 program.number that I do my last 5x3 will also be my opener for bench. Thursdays will be bench assistance if needed.possibly just some shoulder and Rear delt work or tricep work. Looks good on paper. Trying to keep it somewhat simple. My main focus is bringing up my deadlift that's why I am running that.

Today went full retard with chest. After almost tearing my pec Tuesday I did this today
275x1 paused
295x1 paused
315x1touch n go but on the way down I almost ripped my right pec clean apart. Not good at all.
Did a clean and press with 135 then lowered to behind my head then squated back up and pressed for lolz just ****in around for fun
Then I decided to do 1 arm clean and press with 95 lbs on the Olympic 7 foot bar lol
After that I was gonna do 225 for reps on bench but felt the pec pain again on 1st rep.
Then I decided to just do 95x20 strict standing military press along with a few snatches from waist level. Crossfit type stuff seems like it would be fun actually.
Followed this up with some pull-ups 3 different grips and called it a day. The plan was to bench light and make sure I wasn't screwed over as far as my pec goes but I kinda forgot about that. Didn't plan on doing much really because this is the last workout before I start all my new stuff

I have been real busy so I forgot to post Fridays workout did deadlifts after a ton of physically demanding stuff earlier that day
365x2
Speed pulls 295 8x3 60 seconds between sets
Circuit of
Stiff leg deads 135x8
Bb row 135x8
Pull downs don't remember weight x8
Back extensions bw x8
Went back to back on exercises and only tested long enough between circuits for my workout partner to do his. Did 3 sets of the circuit
Earlier that day I was doing stuff for the police department to help train ppl for shooting. Was running around with boots and a mask where I could barely breathe while having police shoot at me with paintball pistols
Got two hours of sleep then drove to norcross for a pl meet to volunteer. Spotted and plate loaded for 12 hours straight so in a 48 hour time frame I only got 2 hours of sleep and did a ton of ****. Was my first competition going to. Actually really enjoyed it but I can't wait to compete in January. I'll be spotting and plate loading in December for the border bash also
