Started in November of last year. Started out at 2 laps @ 15mins/each

Cardio doesn't exactly work for speed. The faster you go, the less distance you're able to cover, hence you see why the amount of laps go down when the speed goes up.

It gets exponentially harder to run fast for a long time. That's why hitting 1 lap @ 8 mins is so hard. 7 mins would be impossible.

Now I just run at 4 laps @ 10 mins(this is on a jogging coarse of about 1 mile with hills n chit)

My 100m is about 14-15 seconds lol.

Initial cardio gains in the first couple of months are rapid. Slows after that.

Low intensity cardio does work for speed even at shortish race distances such as 800m. As distance increases, the aerobic component increases, and even at mile race pace, it’s like 90-95% aerobic, which is trained through those easy low intensity, high volume runs

Even if you increase your cardio, your max speed sprint distance is barely going to increase. 100m full speed most people can barely run it.

Either you train for long distance at low intensities or you train to cover a short distance very fast. There isn't a good in between.
