You need to try and get more cash than that, tbh - one of the most important things that is never phukking talked about in crypto is that getting together a big stake is crucially important. Even if you hit 1000x (which you definitely won't), that's only $2mil.

But if you start with $100k and back a couple of 5x's (possible), that's good.

Admittedly, it was easier to borrow money pre-2022, but it remains important and such an overlooked part of a successful strategy. All we ever talk about in crypto is "what to buy", with maybe 10% attention to "when to buy" and 0.1% on "when to sell", but there's phukking nothing about the wider strategy and how to actually get into the game properly.

Despite being in the QNT ICO and then following it while it was as low as 17c in August 2018, and closely ever since then, due to lack of funding at the crucial time I was only able to extract about 100-150x from what was a 2500x run. I was trying to get loans, remortgage my house, get friends to buy in, etc. Then by the time you get your hands on cash price as moved on, etc. Afterwards I snagged a few x from chit like CVX and CRV afterwards, luckily.

Whatever a coin does, you're almost certainly only going to get a part of the move, even if you were there from the very bottom to the very top. Assume you do really well and sell within 50% of the top (i.e. it might go another 2x from where you sell), and assume your average buy was within a 2x of the bottom, that already cuts a 100x move down to 25x for you.
