Maybe for football, but definitely not for baseball (at least).
I've got four residents who are Big10 baseball players (all freshmen) and they're not treated like kings at all. They still gotta pass their classes if they want to play, though they do get free tutoring and stuff. They know they're not above the law, though, that's one thing for sure.
However, I did write a football player up for having a girl on male's bathroom (lol), so i don't think athletes get special privilege unless they're indispensable.
sucks living as a student athlete, though. baseball is having an off season now, but they gotta be up at 6am on daily basis, and they practice like 3 hours (at least)/ day, and only get 2 days off (and 3 if we have home football game). Can't imagine how it's gonna be like when baseball season starts.Last edited by lazzara; 10-23-2012 at 11:17 AM.

My brother, my friend and I got into a fight with the entire D-1 hockey team at my school during a party. Severely hurt about 6 of them, the fight pooled outside and my buddy and 2 of them got arrested. The next day at school I walk into class and 3 of them are waiting for me, they want to apologize and say that their friends got let off but my buddy is going to be charged.
I was like lol u cheeky fgts wait until i see you at a bar somewhere

My friend is a D1 cross country runner (which is nothing in terms of ncaa athletics like basketball/football). He writes his papers as the first draft, a tutor fixes everything in the paper, the teacher reads it and fixes even more mistakes, he gets it backs, gets to rewrite it and resubmit it. He also has tutors available for every class, homework is done for him, unlimited meal plan, free clothes, tuition, etc.
