This we can agree upon, state issued IDs should be free. Not just for voting, but for ease of access/processing for many government activities to include police work. I spent multiple years in a socioeconomic place where $20 meant quite a bit to me so I understand that.
What jobs can you legally work that don't require you to provide an ID upon hiring?
Don't know much about rules from other countries, but to be perfectly honest I don't trust the mail system to deliver an envelope with a bit of cash in it for a birthday. Voting is the most important right we as citizens of the US has, it behooves us to implement intelligent and fair rules while at the same time ensure everyone's vote is taken and counted correctly.

"More funding"
Case in point, more government. I.e. More inefficiencies and we'll be having this conversation t'ill the cows go moo. The post office only got slightly better once there was free market competition, I don't see why we can't have that same level of competition at the DMV or in regards to passports or other forms of ID's. As long as they comply with states regulations we would be golden. Love you ARI no hate pimp

What's the point to a national holiday on election day? So government workers and teachers get a whole day off just to vote? I work long hours and have never had a problem stopping on the way home to vote. Give me the whole day off I might be too drunk to remember to leave the house. Not impressed with the idea overall but open to someone changing my mind

If the foundation of your country is voting then it seems logical that your elections should be as accessible as possible. If you want voter IDs then give every citizen a free ID. If you want elections to take place on one day then make it a public holiday.
Hey idiot, Im knot knowing his style. Maybe his free. Maybe the dog in his crew, perhaps not....im not God or psychic idiot. Experience my neg.
