Hi guys, lifted at the South East of England powerlifting championships in Windsor. I competed in the 181 class. well my weight was 175pound when I weighed in. All together I dropped over 25 pound from the start of the cut mid week before the show. I wouldnt advise it to anybody, I looked like death warmed up!!
I opened with 312.5kg for the British record, that went well. Then I upped the bar a bit to 320kg for the European record that went well 2. For my third attempt I went for 341kg's and just missed it at lock out. Got some vids and pic's of the day.
I'm at work at the moment and they have a fire wall on youtube clip's so I havent seen this vid yet, just received this from a friend from the day.

Random question but is the huge guy in the chair at the front of the pics 'Big Dave' of the uk pitbulls (the wrestlers)?

Thank you very much for the above comments, nice group of people on this site
You can find out more information about UK shows at powerliftinguk.co.uk, hope that helps Iain.
The only problem I have had with improving my deadlift Dominik is when I started to squat heavyer, I found it took a lot out of my deadlift at the end of the meet. It took me a few years to adjust my training to start improving again with my lifts. When I first started out my deadlift was at 250kg I was in the teenage 16 or 17 year old class and I was at 82.5kg's (181 pound) but my other two lifts the squat and bench wouldnt impress you that muchI pulled 660 (300kg's) when I was 19 and weighing around 87-88kg's It was over time that I brought the other two up. I lifted 331kg's as a junior weighing in at around 88kg, I never had to cut weight. That was what I weighed walking around. Around the same time I was squating 350kg's, that was back in 2004. After that my squat increased but my deadlift went backwards. It was only when my best friend Flex Lewis suggested I change my diet and training around that I started to improve again. I have worked a 372.5kg's deadlift in to my routine now and that is what I want to pull at a 100kg's (220) this summer at the Europa super show.
Thank's Grayhorse, yes I have the British nationals just before the Europa and I will be competing at 220. TIME TO GET BIG

That is my plan, I plan to put the weight on over the next ten weeks leading up to the British nationals. Ed Coan holds the all time record at 82.5kg with 359kg's. He is a lot shorter than me and I found it hard to get down to 82.5kg's. I need to go up, but I'm hoping to put on lean weight or as lean as possible as I dont want it to effect my grip with fat little fingers

I had the Welsh national championships two weeks before it so I came down from 94kg's to 90kg's cutting weight for that show. I had started to clean my diet up then. I have noted everything I did down if anybody is interested. I will get it together and post it up.

Ha ha, do you know what you gave me the idea. I probably wouldnt have even thought of it (lol).. I think a little more guess work and I could get a bit more out of my pull. Here is my miss at 341kg's, I weighed about 89kg's on the day but didnt feel back to normal after cuting my water thursday night until I went in the sauna saturday from 8am until 2.00pm in and out in and out.. All I advise is dont go trying this guys as it could seriously mess you up if you dont know what you are doing. I didnt use any kind of diretic only good old vitamin c and I did up my water to 10 litres a day a week out before cutting water. Yes I have a pic of me at around 84kg's and I look gaunt and really ill post it up for you now bro.

It was my third lift and I did 320kg just before and was jumping around wasting energy as I was happy to get the European record. I would of had a better chance at it if I went for it on my second and used more leg's and not rushed it so much. Hey, you can pick up things from anybody and we are all here to try different things bro... Thanks very much
