Fitness Gear weight bench (black with gray stripe down the length in the middle) and white legs. Are these usually good/stable and worth $30-40?

Does anyone know anything about this Power Rack? Its made by SST Fitness, it looks like the company has gone out of business and I cant find much detail on the quality of their products. The guy lists it as "Commercial Grade", but ill take that with a grain of salt.
Here are the only pictures he has of it(unassembled unfortunately)

Looks alot like the Tuff Stuff rack (TPR-265 maybe). Probably 'Light' commercial quality at best, but depending on the price it could be a really decent rack. I'm partial to the pop-pin racks, I think their functionality is undeniable and I have no complaints with mine (Bodycraft F430).

It seems to me that pop pins on a commercial rack wouldn't really make sense.
but yeah i'd go with what UL saidDomicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

Repped. Thanks.
Youre right, it does look a lot like that rack, and interestingly enough the user in the post that you linked to actually got an SST Flat Bench with his TuffStuff Rack. The guy wants 250$ for it OBO, so I might be able to get it for 200.
It certainly seems like it would be an upgrade over my Titan Rack(most racks are) which I could probably sell and make up most of the cost.

Well, you have some bargaining power on that rack given its older and discontinued. I think $200 would be a great deal, I have seen similar Parabody racks sell in the $250-$350 range so it's priced reasonably. The downsides will be finding replacement parts if something goes wrong, and you will have to go 'custom' for accessories like monolift attachments and plate storage if you plan on keeping it for the long haul. But if you are buying just to use until the next upgrade, it's an easy flip.

Everything that I have seen from SST Fitness appears to be comparable in quality to Body Solid, Parabody, Powertec, etc--nice home-use gear. Not commercial or even light commercial, but $200 would be a good price if you can get it for that.

Sorry guys, I jumped on that within the hour it was posted lol. I live in Winston-Salem and wasn't thrilled about possibly making a 5-6 hr round trip drive, but luckily my younger brother who lives in Columbia was willing to go pick them up for me. Ended up getting all he had (he had an extra 25, so I got 7 total) and the weight stand for $350. Didn't really want the stand, but I figured I could probably flip it if it sucks. Now I can get rid of the ****ty Fitness Gear 300 lb set I picked up for the hell of it with several mixed pairs of rubber/steel hex dumbbells (440 lbs all together) that I was really after for $280.
This **** is addicting!

What do you guys think of this deal? I'll be getting a lat attachment at some point for my Body Solid rack. Good buy?

try them before buying while you are there, i found some angles i wanted to buy actually felt weird to me. you can sort of tell just doing motions with the lat bar by itself but its easier with weight for you tell if you like how it feels. you can save yourself some money by making sure its something you want to use. test first.

I would try the curl bar out first to see how you like the angle and grip.
I think that fellow is asking top dollar (due to the brand name). Usually a lat attachment comes with the long bar, so they aren't exactly hard to find. The additional attachments that people look for are the cambered bar (usually a little shorter and less severe camber than the one in the picture), the V-handle for low rowing. and rope or inverted V for tricep pressdowns.
I'd offer the guy $30 for all three.
Good luck!++++++++

spacing out a url like that makes it a real PITA for people to copy and paste into the url window. just leave off the html and it should work just fine intact.

the fitness gear rack isn't a very reliable rack. there are pictures with the welds failing on the weight pegs.
that being said, for a package deal that would be something you could lift with for a little bit and then flip later to break even when you upgrade.
if you're in a hurry, i guess it'd work, but if you're patient, i'd pass.Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House
