not enough weight for deadlifts??no problem!!

ok so i have been serious about bbing for the past 2 months or so, meaning diet and workingout with a routine, and just recently ive started to hear about how great adding squats and dealifts to the workouts are important to growth..i only have up to 100lbs. to work with at home and not much time to go the gym so i decided to make me a barbell with enough weight to use for squats and dealifts....
    first-materials..lol
    1. 4-4x4 tires off suv
    2. 25lb. barbell bar
    3. 4-3lb. weight plates
    4. 2- end of bar weight holders///???

now on to the pics...each tire is about 50lbs. give or take a few pounds
the 4-3lb plates were used between each of the two tires to hold them in place since the hole in the middle of the tire was alot bigger than than diameter of the bar.....

    the finished project

me getting started with the first lift(hopeing all goes well and i dont pull something on my first 'heavy' deadlift, haha

yay! i did it 225lbs. alright!!

    smile~!

I don't think you would get as good effects from using 45 pounds plates. The tires looks alot taller making your range of motion alot smaller and easier to pull off the ground.

If I'm wrong sorry there bud.

    Anyways Nice project man.

i'd suggest doing the bar with as much weight as you got high reps, so you don't loose flexibility. by my estimation, 45 pound olympic plates would go about as wide as the rims. nice job though, great idea!
