Imperfection Is Perfection
By: Gregory Gauntt
Bodybuilding is a lifestyle. It is something that we live by. It is something that consumes each and every moment of free time. For some, nothing is more important. For many, it is an uncontrollable hobby that gets them through the week. It is without a doubt the most hardcore lifestyle one can live.
As you wake up in the morning you take a look in the mirror. No matter how good your previous day?s workout was. You?re not satisfied. You?re left pectoral is somehow smaller then you?re right. You have one bicep that is lacking and one that is not. You?re abs are not coming in the way you would like. You calves are too small. You?re not perfect.
It is the imperfections that are our perfection in the world of bodybuilding. Think about it? If you had a perfect chest, what would be the point of grunting out on the bench press? If your arms both measured a perfect 20 inches, why go in the gym and train them? If you have thighs the size of the average mans waste then why would you do squats? The answer is simple. You don?t. You?re not perfect.
Everyone has their flaws, even the pros. Ronnie and his left lat. Jay and his uneven biceps. Ruhl and his undersized triceps. The list can go on and on. It is those imperfections in each and ever pro that drives him or her to continue in the gym and get better for next time. It is the same for the average gym rat.
So the next time you wake up in the morning and look in the mirror make sure you take a look at the imperfections. Those imperfections will drive you to bring them out. Don?t shade them away by looking at only the good. Hiding the imperfections will hurt you in the long run. Work on all the little things and eventually the imperfections will be worked to perfection. But look out, because once the imperfections are perfect there is another imperfection making its way in. That is what makes bodybuilding a lifestyle. That is what keeps our world turning. Imperfection?
