Okay, there's a "2007 Mr. Olympia Predictions" thread so how about a Ms. O thread?
Let's hear 'em!
I'm hoping for...
1) Yaxeni Oriquen (Ms. O in 2005)
2) Iris Kyle (Ms. O in 2004 and 2006)
3) Heather Armbrust (Sacramento Pro Champion in 2007)

http://www.iriskyle.com/
http://www.heatherarmbrust.com/
You've got to check out yaxeni.com and visit the "Preview" link - http://www.yaxeni.com/preview.html
Arnold congratulates Yaxeni on her 3rd Arnold Classic win and at the end she says something like, "My English is getting better." Arnold deadpans, "How would I know?" and the audience roars as both Schwarzenegger and Oriquen are known for their personal flavor of pronunciations.
I'd also like to see Annie Rivieccio crack the top 5. Annie placed 13th in 2005, and jumped to 3rd for last year's Ms. Olympia.

No offence, the female Pro's are better bodybuilders then I will be in a very long time, and I can't imagine all the dedication they put into what they do.
BUT, her face in that video screams "I JUST ESCAPED FROM THE MENTAL WARD" at me.
and to my prediction: If Iris Kyle brings back her 06 form, I think she'll take the cake.

Hey, I tend to date those "I JUST ESCAPED FROM THE MENTAL WARD" types.
I agree with your prediction, but I'd love to see both women arrive on stage in top shape. Iris is more athletic and slimmer while Yaxeni is sexier, imo. Both competitors have calves that ANY bodybuilder would kill for.http://curtjames.com/

Ive always been a Dayana Cadeau (and shes Canadian!!) and Valetina Chepiga fan but I think Iris will take it again....shes just so far ahead of the curve.
Bro your not alone, Im a huge fan of female bodybuilding. Do you remember Denise rutkowski?? shes was my absolute fav back in the day, could have went all the way in the sport if she chose to.
F.Obsessed is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated.

Cadeau is amazing. You saw her interview with Bob Chick, right? Yaxeni has a chance of beating Iris, but then so does Dayana. Just depends on those damn judges!
Rutkowski is originally from Reading, Pennsylvania which is not that far from where I live now. Don't know what happened to her, though. You're right. She could have definitely won the Ms. O. She placed 2nd and then disappeared, iirc.
I attended the Arnold Classic in 1989 (the first one), 1990, 1991, and 1992. I wish I would have gone to the '93 show because Claudia Montemaggi (one of my favorites) competed that year.
Anyway, back to your favorite Canadian! She'll definitely be near the top if she doesn't pull off an upset win.
(Googles Valentina Chepiga)
Holy crap! How did I overlook her? She's hot.

heh
Hey, I like women in just about all shapes and sizes, actually. If Kim Basinger took up Figure competitions then I'd be in the front row every time. But, yeah, I see a LOT of sexy in Yaxeni Oriquen, too. Sue me.
You ever hear of George Thorogood? He's got a song with these lyrics:
"I like them small
I like 'em tall
I like 'em all!
now it don't bother me
if a girl don't know how to cope
because the things that they know
how to do can't be learned in a book!"
So, yeah, "The Fetish is strong with this one," but it's a fetish for all the ladies.http://curtjames.com/

Yaxeni is awesome. I think when she won the O, she was just about perfect for her. The next time at the Arnold though I think she was just barely a little too smooth. It's tricky for women because of how far they should take it. I personally think that for Yaxeni's body, she looks perfect when you can see her abs clearly, but any more conditioned for her is a little much, while if her abs are a little blurry then Iris wins.
Denise Rutkowski was awesome IMO.
As for Iris Kyle, I guess I'm one of the few that believes that she's not that far ahead of the pack. She is definitely great, but she's beatable by some of the other women. Annie Revieccio is great. I don't think she's ready to win, but she's definitely great. Heather as well could come up in a few years. I think those two are very close and only have small things to work on.

^^forgot what her name was but she looks great for a smaller competitor. Just needs time to bring her legs up to match her upper body.
********
Of course Dayana is right on Iris's heals. Personally I think Dayana has almost perfect structure, aesthetics, and femininity while still being muscular and conditioned. I think at the Arnold she came in too big. She's going the opposite route for the O this year and wants to be really hard. I personally don't really want to see that but if it allows her to win then I think she can take the sport in a new direction. I think she looks great, and she wants to bring the old-school looks for female bodybuilding back. The women just don't look right IMO when they are too ripped. In fact, that's why Iris lost in 2005. She was too conditioned. I saw her on stage when I was there and to be honest her conditioning looked very "harsh" if that describes it properly. I just think her consistency pays off though.
I still think Dayana can win and personally think she deserves it too. Iris and Dayana are both known for great lats but I think Iris's are actually slightly too big for her lower body, while Dayana seems to hold conditioning, fullness, and balance in the best way and looks great from all angles and she has even fuller muscle bellies than Iris. Iris is awesome but just about every time I see them standing next to each other I always see Dayana with that "it factor."
Also, for a smaller girl she has almost perfect proportions and IMO beats Iris in the hamstring department.

I guess to sum it up, I'd say that Dayana is not just a great bodybuilder, she's also great for female bodybuilding because she's a very shapely and curvy bodybuilder, and that's really what I feel women's bodybuilding needs. In the same way that the men's side of the sport is starting to favor people with the overall package of size, conditioning, and aesthetics, I think female bodybuilding is catching up. Dayana just seems, to me, the next step in the progression.
sorry for the long-winded post, lol

Hecklers
I've never met her. That's cool about how she handled the negative response. Saw a YouTube of Dayana Cadeau on Jenny Jones? It was something like "Too Muscular to Get a Date" day or topic on the show and people were literally booing Dayana and some other muscular women. Cadeau looked sensational, though. Skintight outfit and her typical confident speech. Real brief, but she didn't seem fazed at all.

a bodybuilder (someone with sub 7% bf) being heckled by a fat person (30%+bf )....lmao...
Dont over complicate things which should be relatively simple... stick to the ABC's of bodybuilding.
When you start using your calculator and stressing over the latest internet study you know you've gone to far...
I'll meet you in the gym... today is leg day

Sorry, no clue.
The only news (and sad news at that) I have about Yaxeni would be that I was stunned to see that her friend Fannie Barrios, IFBB competitor and showcased in the "Yaxeni Oriquen Latin Style" DVD, passed away in August 2005.
Regarding Betty Viana, are you familiar with http://www.search-female-physique.com/? It's a free registration. No charge at all, just provide an email and set up an account there. Some great Betty Viana images on that site.
Might also want to visit http://physiquephotographer.com/.
And there's a cool video of Viana here: http://www.criticalbench.com/betty-viana.htm The bottom two vids are no longer available, though.http://curtjames.com/

heh Exactly my thought, but it was on Jenny Jones. Some Maury Povich-like BS with other muscled women brought on to delight a bunch of idiots in the audience.
Like I said, Dayana's only in it briefly. I got the name of the episode wrong, too. It's "Too Buff to Get a Date." They're wrong, of course!Last edited by curt_james; 09-03-2007 at 01:08 PM.
