Hey everybody!
I just received a call from the District Manager of the Jacksonville/Orlando area for Lifestyle Family Fitness offering me a position as an Operations Manager! I of course accepted.
*does back flip*
My training begins August 16th!
I'm so excited! You have no idea! Not only is it a job in a field I'm passionate about (fitness), but I'll be doing something I love (operations management, i.e. motivating, training, hiring team members/employees).
Yeah buddy!
Thank you to all my friends here who've supported me!

Opportunities...
Thanks everyone!
Salary-wise it's very competitive, and there's lots of room for career advancement.
http://www.lff.com/Careers_Why_Lifestyle.aspx
When you work at a university (like where I'm working now), you hit a ceiling after a while. Oh, you can advance (which I have), but often it requires more education and positions will have to open or be created (and that doesn't happen as often in the university environment). That's when God's favor really becomes important. Plus, universities don't pay as well (in some jobs) as the private sector does.
But it wasn't so much the money that attracted me. It was more about working again in an industry I love so much (fitness), and working in a field (operations management) where I have an abundance of skill. If you thought I helped a lot of people here on bodybuilding.com, imagine how many I can affect when it's my 9-5 job, and I get PAID to do it.
Besides, the money I save in gasoline (by working only 10 miles from home, instead of 62), is icing on the cake.
When God has His favor on you, amazing things can happen. So hey... love God, live right, have faith and spread the good news. If it can work for little old me, it can work for anyone who believes.

The Voyages of Enterprise
As of this morning... my car has... (runs out to the car)
*drum roll please*
295,902 miles on it.
When I bought my 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT back in 1999 she had 90,000 miles. I've only been making this drive for 2 years though... but boy does it add up!
Last year, I replaced the engine and fuel pump. Since I've had the car, I've been through 3 water pumps, had the tranny serviced, replaced the battery 4 times (before I realized I had a cheap battery and needed a more powerful one), replaced the alternator, had the air conditioning compressor replaced and then this year (when the compressor was about to seize) I replaced it with a $30 bypass pulley (who needs AC in Florida?). Since 1999 I've replaced my entire set of tires 4 times, had to change flat tires 6 times, had the windows tinted, replaced both headlamp capsules, repaired damage caused by an early morning collision with a deer in North Carolina, and installed a new stereo. However, the kicker is that in just the last two years I've spent over $7000 in gasoline (and that's having an average fuel consumption of 26 mpg).
Yeah it was time for a job change.
Here's my baby... I named her "Enterprise" (yeah, I'm a Star Trek fan).
