I've got no problem if people want to remain fat and find something attractive or pleasing about it. I'm not gonna go criticising them if that's their choice. As for me, I see no benefit in it, and the more weight I lose, the better and healthier I feel.

To say its their choice is false - we all pay for it. Obesity related medical costs are on their way up, not down. All this is going to do is screw us over when we get health insurance. So as you can see, its not necessarily their problem unless they sign some waiver saying that they cannot be covered under insurance under any circumstances. Then by all means, load up. We all pay the price for obesity, whether we realize it or not. I heard it was $100 billion a year, which isn't peanuts. I imagine it will be $200 billion by 2006 and $500 billion before 2020. All the fat people now are going to have serious health problems down the road.

Nothing much we can do except to maintain being healthy and hoping that fat people will see good results from people, get their act together, and get healthy.

It makes me sad looking at that pic of those two obese kids. At that age, they don't know any better and don't know what obesity will do to them physically, emotionally, and socially. They'll wish their parents hadn't let them get like that when they were young.

It is shame. At that age it is definitely the parents fault. Those kids aren't going to get up and go cook themselves something. The parents should definitely be deciding how much and what they eat as they are their provider of food that young.

I agree with overweight people being happy and comfortable with themselves (thats all good) but I don't think they need to try and glamorize it. I am overweight, and I want to change as my own personal goal, but even if I was completely fine with my size, I don't think I'd join anything like that "organization".

I think I missesd the post you are referring to. However, that reminds me of the time in the last year when I watched one of the daily talk shows. Basically it dealt with obese children. One of the kids profiled was so morbidly obese that his heart had stopped at one point, and now he has to be on oxygen through the nose for the rest of his life. Yep, just like an elderly person with COPD or emphysema. Bear in mind this boy was younger than 12.

All his mom could cry about was how he gets teased for his weight. While no one likes to get teased, she apparently never showed any remorse for being such an irresponsible parent and letting his health deteriorate to that point.

While being that fat is incredibly disgusting and un-healthy, there are actually some people who can't really do too much about it. The majority of fat asses are just lazy and eat like a disgusting bastard. However, there are people like my little sister who have a serious thyroid problem. She was the size of every normal girl until she turned 13 years old, and put on a ton of weight in a minimal amount of time. No amount of excercise or dieting that she does has helped at all. She barely even eats, and certainly doesn't eat fast food.

So before you decide that all fat people are worthless slobs, remember that some of them like my little sister didn't have much of a choice in the matter.

And before criticizing everyone else, you should take into account that a good amount of people body building are butt-ass ugly. It's not like everyone who works out seriously had an attractive face to begin with, otherwise they wouldn't have been so determined.

Fat is great. Who wants all women to be a b cup? I saw some of the chicks that went to fat camp at my college during the summer and they were pretty hot! Fat is good for men too. Fat can improve performance in sports like football, sumowrestling, and weightlifting. It's also an easy way to be constantly carrying around extra weight to lift. Also, a male face with a little fat on it looks better than a 'ripped' face. I plan to join this society.

The vast majority of fat asses are fat because they are lazy, glutonous, and undisiplined.

I've heard that one more than a few times It's a common excuse among lard asses, they will go all day without eating anything, then at night have a massive feeding at the troth and wonder why they are so fat. They often lie or are in denial about what they shove down their throats. I have tried to help many obese people trim some lard and in most cases it is an exercise in futility. After they find out it's actually work and they need to develop healthy habits, they are turned off and resume their lazy ways. The common theme seems to be, no breakfast at all (excuse - I'm just not hungry in the morning), a bag of chips at lunch, then a late night call into dominos, or a visit to a drive thru window at a fast food restaurant for a double super sized meal. This is about the only thing that motivates them do get off their fat asses sadly.

Actually I'm far from what you say. I'm in good shape, have alot of muscle, and have been on here because I'm in the process of cutting at the moment. Has nothing to do with hating people who are healthy, seeing as how I am one of them. I am saying that it's ridiculous for some of the people posting to have the audacity to talk about some people who may have a problem, especially when they aren't the hottest looking thing themselves. I'm pretty sure you misinterpreted everything that I said.

And I know what my sister eats. I lived with her for a long time. I screamed at her, yelled at her, made fun of her, all sorts of **** in hopes that she could lose weight.
