The retailer said it has already cut the price of about 1,500 items heading into the Memorial Day holiday weekend and said shoppers can expect more bargains for July 4 and the back-to-school and back-to-college seasons.
Price reductions already in place include on Good & Gather Frozen Chicken Breast, Prime Hydration Ice Pop Sports Drinks, Johnsonville Cheddar Smoked Sausages and Good & Gather Shredded Cheese, the company said in a statement.
Just an example of Target helping the poor out:
A pound of Good & Gather unsalted butter will now cost $3.79, down from $3.99 previously, Target said in a statement. Good & Gather 5-oz organic baby spinach will cost $2.99, down from $3.29 previously. Prime Hydration sports drinks in 16.9 fluid ounce version will cost $1.99 , down from $2.19, and a 14.3 ounce Jack’s Frozen pepperoni pizza will cost $3.99, versus $4.19 previously.
Other examples include a 20 ounce-pack of Thomas’ Plain Bagels will be priced at $3.79, down from $4.19 previously. Clorox Scented Wipes will cost 99 cents, down from $1.19, a three-ounce tube of Aveeno SPF 50 Sunscreen will cost $13.19, down from $13.89. And a 100-fluid-ounce bottle of Persil Liquid Laundry Detergent will be priced at $12.99, down from $13.69.
