I know two people who have unalived. I carried the coffin of one.
I don't know if it's dumb or intelligent. But I do think it is a bit selfish and short-sighted. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I would guarantee though, that if someone is feeling like that, the one way to convince them out of it would be to take them to the funeral of someone who has unalived.
It'll absolutely devastate the people you know. That's reason enough alone.Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

I admire the ones that have the guts to pull through with it. I personally don't do it because of the possibility that the life hereafter might be worse. What if the afterlife is you reincarnating into a worse life than your current one, or going to hell?
Can't risk it. But yeah, been thinking about taking my life almost every day for the last couple of years.

Well I can't speak for you, but I would suggest reframing how you evaluate your life. If you fixate on getting girls, you will be miserable until you get one. And then when you get one, it will feel kind of empty because that was all you lived for before. It's better to set other, more concrete goals for yourself. You can't guarantee you will find a wife. You should try, but it might fail. Don't invest all your sense of purpose in such things. It is important and we evolved to seek sex and love and mates, but human existence is more than that, in many ways. The way I see it, we all die anyway. I'm going to die either way, so I can spend my life trying to find something rewarding. If love works out, good. If not, well, it sucks, but I have other things I can focus on doing.

I'm sure there is a neurological signature, but I don't believe it's solved simply via neurochemistry. How could someone take a pill and still be content with a chitty-ass life?
I think depression is your subconscious screaming at you that something is wrong and you need to unsuck your life. Find new hobbies, meet a girl, improve salary, find a purpose etc. There'll be a neurological signature but it's not the root cause of the problm.Back off, Warchild.

It's very gray for me. On one hand, in situations where like the person is in debt (for example), and offs themselves leaving behind a wife and kids who now have to not only fend for themselves and deal with your chit situation you left them, but also now need to deal with losing a husband/father like that. In those cases I despise the person and think they're a coward. In other cases where someone is terminally ill, or is older and has outlived literally everyone they've ever known, I see no issue at all with assisted suicide.
I will say, I never watched the documentary on jumpers at the Golden Gate Bridge, but I've heard people talk about it. Apparently they've interviewed the very very few who actually survived it. They all had two things in common: One, the fall felt like an absolute eternity. And two, as soon as they let go, they all immediately regretted it and realized their situation wasn't as bad as they thought it was. Perspective helps."The dildo of consequences rarely arrives lubed."

In all honesty why would you want to do anything in life. Except enjoy your hobbies, raise a family, love your woman, Excell at your job or calling and be a good dude?
What more is there to want out of life?
Winning the lottery? If you did and you had any other goals but the above you would just be on a path of self destruction.
I can't speak for anyone else. But to me that's a fine life.. leave something good behind."it takes a wise man to know when he is in error and a noble man to admit to it"
