BREAKING:
@TMobile
has quietly updated their TOS to include fines for content they don’t agree with.
Beginning on January 1, 2024, they will be fining users who commit perceived violations on their bandwidth.
Who knew in America that the phone providers would now be policing the content of your text messages to fine you.
S.H.A.F.T. is an acronym that stands for Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, and Tobacco. It outlines the categories of text messages specifically regulated due to moral and legal issues and is monitored and enforced by the Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA) and the mobile carriers.
Who gets to determine what is and isn’t “hateful”?

sounds like a suicide move, must be looking to liquidate. I can't imagine anyone with any common sense would stay with t-mobile with that as a consequence.

Don't have heroes; look up to no one. Because as long as someone's leading the way, the best you'll ever be is second.

Thank goodness I have an O2 PAYG Nokia phone that cost 20 quid. We are pretty much heading back to a conservative, puritan state 7 it will cover the entire west. Just look at the pos UK internet safety bill that was just forced through the commons & has royal ascent-under the guise of 'protecting children' but really to spy on adults that don't understand about VPN's.
They are trying to get an extra bit tacked on that means the person would have to show their passport or driving licence, the porn company checking with the bank who then tell the porn company if the person is 18 plus or not etc. What next? People having to send fingerprints, retinal scans & DNA to the police/government?

Telephone services are public utilities. I would be VERY interested in a lawyer's opinion on wether or not this violates free speech.
The communists/socialists are always the first to screech about "You are free to say whatever you want but not free from the consequences" when it comes to cancel culture. This is a direct assault by a government sanctioned public utility on free speech.
Not a lawyer, but I would love to hear what one has to say about this. To be clear: I am talking about US based lawyers. I am aware UK/EU don't have freedom of speech.
