COD sucks until you try other modern fps games and then you realize it’s actually the goat casual 6v6 PvP experience available.
The proper way to play is hop on with a few friends and have some beers. If you take it seriously or competitively you’re doing it wrong.
Don’t play with anyone who no life’s the game cause you’ll get sweat lobbies.

Yeah I don't really play cod anymore really but it's a top contender for mindless casual fps mp game. I have bros I don't see often and don't game much but when a cod comes out they always wanna play for a few weeks on their consoles, and they know who to hit up for the hard carry
Sometimes I park in handicap spaces, while handicap people make handicap faces

Call of Duty , I’m 62 and what is this ?
Not srs , I used to love that game , you don’t know what you’re missing OP. I can’t speak for online as I only played the campaigns.
Unfortunately I’ve had my computer room taken apart for renovations over 15 years ago and haven’t played since . Can only imagine how much better things have improved.
My old setup

Have never played any MP. I only get them for the campaign. But I always wait at least a year when it's more than 50% off because I'm not paying $60 for a five hour campaign. I really wish they'd do a SP or MP only release for the people that don't care about the other.
I liked how off the rails MW3 went from being a maybe somewhat believable MW1. It's also nice that the newer ones aren't just straight shooters anymore and you get to do a few other things.

Only played for campaign. They are short and sweet. But don't buy it just for that unless it is heavily discounted, cuz like I said... short. Highlight is the multiplayer which I didn't really enjoy.
As of which campaign, I haven't played all but I enjoyed the first Black Ops.CHRISTMAS Forever Crew

never got into online multiplayer, the fun in MP for me is to play local couch
used to do this hours on end with FIFA, Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Smash Bros, THPS, ...
now as an adult it rarely happens IRL and even online isn't a viable option since most have checked out of gaming (sad) or just don't make it a priority (sad)
have no interest in playing against randos, the banter is 90% of the fun
tldr:
- 99% of my gaming is done solo+++ miscin' at work crew +++

Call of Duty: World at War was my favorite stuff back in the day. Zombies was so much fun (and it was the first time a CoD game had it). Multiplayer was decent enough. The campaign and maps were dope. And the music was iconic.
CoD: MW2 was shockingly good too. A lot of the multiplayer maps were great, and the campaign had the WTF moment at the airport playing as the terrorist. It blew up all over the news, very controversial but juicy.
TBH the series kind of fell off for me after those for a while. Though I heard that the campaign of Advanced Warfare w/ Kevin Spacey was actually good.
They rehoned their game and revitalized the series with MW (2019) and MW2 (2022). Those campaigns are pretty stellar, graphics are the best it has ever been, and I've enjoyed the multiplayer. WarZone is entertaining but didn't reel me in like other Battle Royale games, not sure why exactly. MW3 (2023) has a lot of promise though tbh. It will have Zombies again but this time they're innovating it with a 4-person 6-squads type of gameplay with the objective-based missions to extract out. And the campaign is getting some innovation too, being that it's semi-open world, the first CoD game to do that ever I think.
One thing I like about Call of Duty, versus a lot of other FPS games, is that new multiplayer maps comes out every so often. This means every couple of months all the players are nooby AF, not knowing all the best camping spots or where to look. This is unlike games like Counter Strike where nerds have memorized all the maps for years, to the point of wall-glitching, pre-firing with their eyes closed, and getting muscle memory twitch reactions.i7-14700k
