So, I have shifted a lot of my attention to cars in the past few years. (still workout 4 days a week but now it is just staying in shape).
I realized there are many car guys here too. Just figured I'd start a >35 car thread. Feel free to post ANY car stuff you like!
I saw @Busta was getting an aero kit on his C7. Cant wait to see it! Anyone else, feel free to post car stuffs.

I always use from desktop web browser. When you upload image, you click on it and get this. Copy the BB code and paste.
I think if you view the web page in 'desktop' mode from phone (using broswer and not app) you can force it to do this. Not sure if that will work for apple phones. I use andrioid based

Still have my C7 Z06.
Got some Forgeline VX1 Wheels this spring in PVD Black Chrome.
Last year I installed the Morimoto LED "Aventador" style taillights that Miss Lisa bought me for Christmas.
Other mods:
AFE Intake
MAMO Ported Throttle Body
Oracle LED Colormatched/Tinted Sidemarkers
20% Tint
Weathertech Cargo Liner
Miss Lisa bought her first car last summer; a Fiat Spider 124 Lusso.
I bought some aftermarket wheels for it.
And of course I still have my Charger SRT 392 but it is relegated exclusively to winter duty now:

So, a bout 2 pm yesterday the body shop called and let me know they had completed the spoiler and side skirt installation, but they had to stop because the front splitter had a huge crack and scratches on it. I unpacked the boxes when the parts arrived, but I didn't remove the packing from the parts.....lesson learned there. I called Extreme Online Store where I purchased the Kit and I'm in the process of getting a replacement part.
I like the look of the carbon fiber and the spoiler looks so much better than the Z51 spoiler from the factory. Hopefully soon I can get the front splitter installed.

I learned that painful lesson a couple years ago too.
Bought new pads and rotors for the SRT. They arrived end of August but the car was in storage. I opened the boxes to make sure the parts were all there and correct but didn't inspect them closely or remove them from the boxes. The front rotors were both damaged and cracked during shipping, but it was nearly 2 months before I found out and vendor said too bad, you have to let us know within 30 days.Insta: flexjs

Dont ever sell the Z06! I have really come to love those cars! That Fiat looks fun. Manual? Too bad you did not live in a warm place, you could drive it year round. (with top down )
Cant wait to see what it looks like! Sucks that it was damaged.
So a guy I know had a 'opps' at VIR on track with his brand new Z06. Dont think this is buffing out!

Diggin the rides man! How many miles does the Z06 have?
Oh man, that sucks. I might not be able to get them to replace the splitter because I threw the box away. They want to see the packing slip and the shipping box. I might look at repairing the crack myself as you really can't see it unless you go on your hands and knees and really looked for it, but I understand the crack will spread if not repaired.
If anyone has any tips for repairing carbon fiber cracks, let me know.

Fixing carbon is easy.
If crack is just in surface, you can wet sand area down to cloth with 400, then just put clear epoxy on it with brush. Then wet sand smooth. Then go finer and finer all the way to 1500 then use rubbing compouond.
When they delivered my blue car the broke the front carbon splitter by not using the nose lift when they delivered it. I took the $3800 their insurance paid me for the replacement, and just fixed it myself.
The carbon was totally torn.
Here is the fixed part. Best pic I had of front were you could see actual carbon

@busta
REALLY like the side skirts! Cant wait to see when done.
I have really been shifting my attention to more track driving lately. Kind of 'jumped the shark' recently and gone full crazy. I sold our white wide body Lotus that we have been tracking. We have been buliding my son his car since Christmas.
But I came across the opportunity to buy a car that is something I would have never imagined I would own. It is one of 34 Lotus 2-Eleven brought into the US to compete in Lotus Cup race series. It is a factory built race car. (not street legal obviously). This exact car won two seasons of the series and over 20 podium wins. I have been told by many that it is the nicest 211 in the US if not the world. They made about 250 world wide and most ended up in Europe and Japan.
The car was not 'for sale', but a good friend connected me with the owner who was the orignal owner, and campaigned this car in the Cup series. We connected and hit it off. He agreed to sell me the car and we reached an agreement on number. It was not just a car. There were 3 garage of spares. A complete extra Carbon body. (every panel for the car), extra motor, extra trans, extra blower, 4 weel sets, and countless other parts.
I had to drive out past Vegas to get the car as shipping would not have been an option as 3 garages of parts need to be gone through as well. A friend said he would take the trip with me and take his hauler. (basicly a semi) but a HUGE RV, w/ 3 car stacker trailer. 82' in all driving 34 hours straight to vegas. (we rotated 6 hour shift and stopping 3 times for fuel along the way. My son joined and we made quite the adventure out of it. Never seen almost the entire country by road before. It was a great way to end the summer with my son and something we will never forget.
Last pic is my buddies rig. Hardly 'roughing' it! Kind of nuts, but hey, something we wont soon forget!
Some pics of our new toy

So depending on how perfect you want to get the fix, if it is structural, you need the epoxy. Most epoxies have a amber 'activating' agent. They do make special clear ones for more decorative uses, and you might have to look to find them (especially in small quantities).
West systems makes good stuff and this looks very close to being clear and in a small quantity. I buy in the gallon kits as I do a bunch of composite work from time to time (not always by choice when I break things on track! )

The Z06 is a true manual, the Spider is not but it can be driven in "manual mode" like most modern automatics. Lisa just got her license in January (yay Lisa), but so she won't be learning to drive a manual.
The Spider is kinda peppy if you wind it up in manual mode. It's a Turbo 4 cylinder. I think the car would have been much better with at least 50 more HP. But it's perfect for her.Insta: flexjs

20,000 or so! Ack!
I bought it 5 years ago with only 2,700 miles on it.
I drive it daily 7 months/year, and it's been on a few road trips. Most recent one in June from Toronto to Morehead City, NC, to Philadelphia, PA, and back to Toronto. That was a lot of miles!
It's still in mint condition though.Insta: flexjs

That's awesome for a 2017 (I assume it's a 2017). If I drove mine daily, I'd be racking up 16,000 miles per year...long-ish commute.
I bought mine February 4, 2023 with 18,400 miles and now it's at 20,140. It's a 2018 7 speed manual, the low production year.
Only thing I'm not satisfied with is the seats. In my previous 2015 Corvette, the seats were tight, but these are worse. I'm sure you deal with it too--lats too big. Good problem to have I suppose.

Dug up my Dyno sheet from the install of the CAI and headers. I think this stuff is pretty interesting.
I'll probably have a cam job done next year which should get me into the 500+ RWHP neighborhood. Maybe I'll be satisfied then....LOL doubt it. Should have just bought a Z06 and wouldn't have had to do all of these mods.

More POWA! The pursuit can pretty much be never ending. My current street ride is just under 1000 and I finally think I am at the point where I think more power might be pointless But truth be told, I think in street cars the perfect range is 4-500 hp. Above that, you run out of places to enjoy it.
That is why I like my Little Lotus so much. (the steet one I just sold) You can actually drive it and feel like you are getting to actually experience the car.
I have a buddy who is VERY into vettes. I can ask him what mods if any he would go with 'bang for buck'. He is a pretty sharp guy and owns a perofrmance shop and also races.RAW lifts

Hell yeah, see what he says. I have done some research and at this point it seems like the route to go is either a cam job or supercharger. I'd be interested to hear his take on it.
Yeah, I did quite a bit of research back in January on pricing and your car would sell in the $70k+ range. That's outta my budget, lol.
No, do not sell it unless you just want to upgrade to a C8! It's a sweet ride. Any plan to mod it or are you happy with the 600+ HP?

Yea....dont want to be like this guy!
I dont blame you. To be honest, I have not had the balls to take off TC on the 720. It will break at over 80 pretty easily and that is scarry as hell. You cant go full throttle until 4 gear even though it has boost by gear settings to take away power at lower gears.
If we take it to the track, I might try it out a bit, but I have gotten to where I dont push very hard on street driving any more. Maybe a few speed bursts now and again, but last time we were in the mountains on a mountain run, I watched a guy almost go off the side of the mountain with his wife in the car....
And I almost did the same. If you look at the vid, I am entering a turn not at crazy speed. I turn the wheel in 90 deg and the car went straight. Must have been something slippery in the road. If car did not bottom out and rip entire front off the car, I would have gone waaaay down the drop off in front of me.
First vid was the guy wrecking his GT3 Typ P car crash. Cant lift in corners on those cars. Luckily he went into side of hill vs off other side.
Next is me crashing. Made a mess out of the car...which I fixed and repainted all myself.
the aftermath....
Finish product painted and fixed!

Yea, I have gone a little off the deep end with car stuff. I look at it this way, my son just turned 16 and I have only a few more years to make memories with him as a kid before he goes off and gets tied up with life. I am going to make the best out of it!
This was fun the other day, I took the 211 to a car show. It is not street legal, so I had my son follow me there. He could not help but show off a little to me though. Memories like this are ones I will always cherish.
On another crazy note, I am buying another race car on Sunday. Deal just popped up and I and am driving down to Tampa Sat eve, to buy a car on Sunday. We were building my son a car since Christmas, but this car we are getting is a fully prepped (and caged) race car. So we will take the motor and trans we built for my sons car and put it in the new race car. Then at some point I will sell the other track car.
Yea, kinda nuts, but I just feel better having him in a fully caged car with full fire suppression systems etc. We have moved beyond the 'hobby' stage, and safety is something that should not be over looked. We recently got full FIA nomex race suits and gloves and HANS devices. You can tell my son like his fire suit
Life never surprises me any longer. A few years ago, I was obsessing about meal times, workouts...etc. It has been 13 years back training, and I am just now finding a new thing to obsess about. Still training, but the car stuff has my heart lately. I seem to have a pattern in my life of intense hyperfocus on things. My goal is to make sure I still get the workouts in, stay fit and healthy. I dont want to repeat the mistakes of my past. When I stated flying helicopters, I completely forgot about everything else. I dont want to waste the time I have put in the gym. But sadly my heart is not really in it lately. Still grinding 4 days a week though.

It seems to me the universe draws us to what we resist. I mean, not wanting to repeat the mistakes somehow, and don't ask me how, butt somehow.... seems to draw one back to repeating mistakes and all that comes with doing so. It's a flat circle that goes around and around. OK, maybe not a circle butt it's circular. It's not even flat butt I thought that sounded good.
"I don't want to". That's the part. FWIW.
and awesome crazy, ID Dude.
