Just over a month in for Diablo4

How is everyone liking it or hating it? Im having fun and if I can get a decade of gameplay out of it like D2 and D3 I will be happy. What say you fellow gamers?

I'm bored. I was never as bored running the same Baal run in D2 for years as I am playing end game content in D4. Kinda of strange honestly.

The best thing the game has going for it is the visuals, but that's about it honestly

Basically no new systems or ARPG content. Just a) their old chit rebranded or b) stuff borrowed from other games. Glyphs are just legendary gems. Legion events are basically just bounties. "Dungeons" are basically just POE maps

I'm playing it and enjoying it somewhat, but the end game loop is just severely lacking. Itemization is chit at this point. There isn't much dopamine to be had like the drops from D2 and POE give.

I think over time they can make it into a great game, but right now it's kind of a big disappointment overall

Their move to live services killed a sale to me. I am just glad that Diablo 2 is on current platforms and plays excellent.

I played a lot for the first three weeks and then quit. Might revisit in season 1. After about level 70 there's nothing to do.

something was novel about joining a lobby and blowing through mobs with strangers. D4 feels very action-rpg compared to online-action-rpg

So it got treated like an action-rpg to me. Play the campaign once and never touch it again

Honestly been pretty bored since I hit level 70. The grind to 100 to attempt Uber Lilith has broken me and it's just not fun. I haven't received a single upgrade in over 20 levels so getting pretty burnt out on it. I'll give the Season a 10-day trial then I'm off to BG3.

Far, far better than both D2 and D3 on release, but it definitely needs some polish and fine tuning. Fortunately it looks like they’re paying attention and implementing (some of the) changes quickly.

Managed to avoid getting burnt out in the grind, played some co op with a friend and diked around with several classes. Overall better than what I expected but there’s room for improvements.

Now if only the D2 autists would return to their game without announcing it every 5 minutes.

They perfectly understand that some eternal manchildren are willing to fork out 60 bucks for the poverty remakes of their 20 year old games, like D2R and WoW Classic.

Game's fun but I really regret my choice of class/build (arc lash sorc) and CBA to level up something else pre-season.

Planning to have a few days off of work for season 1, srs. I'm not the biggest fan of the malignant mechanics but I'm hyped for trying out a new class (necro or rogue) at least.

I think the only major problem with the game is that higher level and harder content doesn't give better item power gear. You can still get crappy low item power sacred gear at 95. Seems fixable though, but wanna hear a dev confirm that they agree and they're gonna make it happen.

Got one character to 50 and one to 30, beat the story but havent done a lot of the "content" like gather the statues. Might just shelf the game til an expansion really.


You would think the larger open style map would be better but honestly like the act break up from the previous games.

I love D4 but it's not perfect, would love them to make the following changes:

-enable trading, period
-gem loot bag
-more stash tabs
-more tabs to hold elixers/sigils/aspects
-no smartloot, I would like to play another class ie sorc or rogue and have a Tempest Roar drop for druid so I can then make a new character based around the item. It was like this in D2, but in D4 you only have drops that are for your class. Would be nice to get drops for other classes as well to save for future alts
-crafting of some sort
-more Horse stamina, 3 charges is nothing
-shako and unique item drop buff, having a shako be as rare as a mirror on POE is kinda ridiculous

I like the game, and it definitely has a lot of potential.

with that said, blizzard definitely took the easy route for d4.

it's basically a recycled game like lost ark, with diablo themes.

that shouldn't sit well with people because blizzard had like a decade to do something special, and not recycled.

Do it. Diablo 3 + 4 are a shallow pond. POE is the Marina Trench. There's so many layers you can delve into. And when POE2 comes out there will be a major graphics overhaul.

I played D2 for a few thousand hours on release. Played a few thousand hours in D3 after RoS dropped, then switched to POE in 2019. My only regret is not starting POE sooner.

I played D3 a lot from 2012 maybe up to 2018 going back and forth every other season.
D4 is not too different from D3 but I am enjoying it so far.

The biggest reason is our clan. At any given time, there are like 70-100 players online in our clan, and Discord is very active.
There are always people looking for others to play dungeons or even just doing helltides, etc.

BRB "I played 399 hours and the game will die if blizzard doesn't change xyZ........"

Taking my time enjoying the action, lvl 60 Necro. I wish they increased mob density and poison damage is a hard crutch for them but other than that I look forward to the updates.

ur lvl 60. After about lvl 70 there just isn't really any reason to keep grinding other than to kill uber Lillith, which is pointless other than bragging rights because she doesn't drop chit. The end game is extremely shallow.
