You can tell by the attitudes and posts of people here. Yeah, a lot of miscers might’ve had a low income in college, but actually lived in poverty? Nah.
That’s a good thing though. Pat yourselves on the back.

I lived in poverty during my undergrad. After I paid the rent for the chitty halfway house I was living in, I had around $100 left for a fortnight. It was below the poverty line.
I couldn't stick to a lifter's diet. I frequently went hungry, resorting to eating two minute noodles, and the washing machine cost money so I went without clean clothes quite a lot. I remember my socks ending up stinking to high heaven and I smelt homeless.
No car, had to bus it. Certainly no dating or romance with women, unless I was willing to stoop to methhead junkies. Social life reduced to nothing. No thanks. I know poverty, and it sucks. It affects your mental health pretty badly.
Unless you mean literal Rwanda-tier poverty.Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

I don’t know poverty, but I do know the feels of having money, losing it, and building back up slowly. Not as bad, I’m sure, but not a fun ride.
I've been seeing the past in one eye and the present in the other. So, I thought I could only see patches of reality, never the whole picture. I felt like I was watching a dream I could never wake up from. Before I knew it, the dream was over.

being poor in uni is literally nothing. uni's give away so much free ****. you could easily get free food every day on campus if you really tried. even then uni's hand out student loans like it's candy. you don't feel poor until you become an adult and pay real bills and then lose your job and struggle to find one. that's when it's rough.

When I realized that I have a family who loves me, more than a few good friends, food on our table and a roof over our head, I feel like richer than I originally thought.

If you can afford blow, you're not living in poverty. You're just being a retard with your money. Assuming the exchange rates between my country and the US are similar, a measly gram of booger sugar is like $300.
Living with your parents and getting drunk isn't being poverty, it's the chit. I was in poverty. I slept in a cockroach infested room in a halfway house and I had to ration out blocks of two minute noodles. I frequently smelt homeless because I didn't have coins for the washing machine. Physique went to chit.
I wasn't utterly homeless, but it was close enough. It's a terrible and dehumanizing experience.Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

I've never been poor. I have pretty much everything I need to survive. Not opulent or excessively luxurious, but not broke either. House is worth over a mil. Decent stuff but old. Drive an old but reliable car. I make enough to cover my healthcare, food, insurances, utilities, and maintenance. Don't have to pay for my housing thx to my dad. I was lucky. Most aren't so lucky.

It's alright, I got a lot of funny stories from that place. There was this weird dude who lived on the first floor who teetered on the threshold between being friendly and being creepy AF. He invited me into his room to watch some UFO videos, and I noticed he had a hole in his wall at groin height and two teacup handles glued onto the wall.
I think he was sticking a fleshlight in the hole or something and fcking the wall, using the teacup handles to grab onto. LMAO.Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.
