From this ....
to this....
The new 'anti-theft' store at at 2 East Roosevelt in downtown Chicago will trust shoppers to pick up 'essentials' for themselves in the two free aisles, but everything else must be ordered and picked up via a counter.
thing is...I don't see this spreading to the suburbs/white areas. too costly. and if they only leave it in urban areas it seems racist.

Yeah this is the reality of doing business in "those areas"
I'm surprised walmart hasn't created a kiosk/bullet proof glass system for chit-tier ghetto people. If they just make the store a window for people to order their chit, and the employee can run back to get it, I see this as a viable system.
I guess the main problem is that no one will go there anymore because they can't steal.... But in that case, you will never want to have a business there to begin with.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.

Man, can you imagine retail chain stores like Walmart trying to operate as basically a drive through system? Because even doing strictly curbside pickup wouldn't guarantee this bs stops unless they make regular employees who take stuff ut to cars armed, and obvious guards that would demand about 3x more pay than they typically pay those kinds of workers. They aren't gonna pay someone $25 - $35 an hour to do that. I can't see a drive through system working at all, it's be way too slow.

Won't be long before everything gets ordered and paid for at a kiosk then brought to you by a robot.

I don't know.... The amount of employees a walmart has, with a warehouse system they could be more efficient. Set up racks/shelves with some kind of speed directory to grab the stuff.
It would streamline the work so walmart wouldn't need to put more hours on the schedule for the staff...
And NO, the staff would not be walking into the parking lot; it would be a damn door they pick up their chit. Not wasting time loading jamal's groceries into his heavily financed dodge charger.
Walmart is closing down stores in ghetto ass cities, so it's worth an attempt IMO.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.
