The annoying religious zealots are irritating as chit, but when a normal sensible person talks about their faith it’s an appealing discussion. Reading about Jesus is fascinating, however it’d be difficult for me to believe the miracles. Anyone who is honest with themselves knows The Bible was written and corrupted by man, and also contradicts itself multiple times. But the message of Christ is interesting nonetheless.

I grew up Agnostic but take more of a Jordan Peterson approach lately where I find religion valuable even if it’s stories are not literally factual.

Anyone else feel this way?

People need to believe in something. If you don't give people a religion, they will create some bullchit to believe in. Look at the number of "witches" and "pagans" there are nowadays, these people are just desperate for something. Especially women need something "spiritual".

And worst case you get a religion centred on vaccines, "climate change", feminism, trannies, abortion, and so on. Modern wokism is more of a demon-worshipping religion where you have to make sacrifices to appease the covid demon by getting injected with poison that can stop your heart, or give up your car and heat in your home to appease the global warming demon.

The story of Jesus Christ is harmless and has a good lesson to tell to people. It doesn't matter whether or not he really rose from the dead after 3 days, as it doesn't change anything about the way we live our lives. Christianity is a good religion because its central stories all effect people's behaviour in positive ways (and ones that don't are heresy). And I personally find it more likely that Jesus Christ died and came back to life several days later than we're all going to die if we keep burning gas or don't get covid injections. I'm around today and I know for sure that these people's central tenets are false and harmful, whereas I wasn't around 2000 years ago so who knows?

I think all this means is that the people that killed him knew very well what they were doing and weren't blinded by the same temptations that manifested among the people as a condition of the Temple.

The modern exposure to movies is more consistent with the Bible than people realize.

Nordic/Greek/Roman gods societies for instance typically revered gods in a righteous and earnest regard, but they were also just kind of passed around as whimsical stories with different regions having their own written and dramatic embellishments. More like comics or something.

I was raised in a part time religious house hold... which means my mom did her best to guide my sister and I but always left avenues for us to do our own thinking and form our own opinion.

It took me a while to really wrap my head around religion in general and can finally say that... its bull$hit. Because any "house of worship" you walk into the very first thing they start preaching about is how their God wants you to give them money... Religion was created in order to control the masses and has morphed into Big Business.

However , I have found the stories in the Bible interesting and can understand how some people NEED this kind of structure in their life.
