Not at all, the rules are the same for everybody. Get the bar from point A to point B. If Sumo was easier, everybody would do it. They don't. In fact, most top deadlifters do conventional.

And almost every deadlift record being broken nowadays in powerlifting is sumo, the “top deadlifters are all conventional” hasn’t been true for a few years now
