Was a young man who had just moved to So Cal from Detroit in 88, was working at the Newporter resort on PCH & Jamboree in Newport bch, was in the kitchen as a waiter when Gibson came up and hit the home run against Eckersley and limped around, he left the Tigers from the year before,couldn’t help but smile, listening to Vin Scully was the same as listening to Ernie Harwell
