Mid to late 90s.

The birth of the internet. Exploring it was like exploring a new world. There was no social media, few restrictions, it was awesome. This was also before everyone had a smart phone.

early 90's i remember the internet was originally all text based and mostly research info was available.
I'd dial into my college computer then access it that way.

Didn't have their faces stuck in their phones or concentrating on taking pics to post on social media. We would just have fun and didn't have to prove to a bunch of people we barely know that we were having fun.

Also, people were 1) better skilled socially, and 2) more open to meeting strangers. Nowadays, people can't even bring themselves to talk over the phone or make eye contact. Every interaction is a done via 7-word/3-emoji text or e-mail.

Thank god I was a kid in the 80s. Hours of staying outside after school and on weekends, mom stayed home and gave me a great meal at dinner.

Arcades on the weekend. Staying at friend's houses for hours and hours.

The only thing that sucked was if friends moved away you'd never see them again for the rest of your life.
