Just curious what changes people are noticing. I'm in Ohio and the price of apples in particular has gone up a lot. Milk has gone up too. Not much else that I typically purchases has changed, at least not in a significant enough way to make me really notice.

Food. Tri-tip steak was $4 a pound 18 months ago. Now it's $6 a pound. Rib eye was $12, now it's $18.
Pizza Hut meat lovers was $12, now it's $18.
2 years ago I could buy a house with central heat & air for $9500 (in this town). Now you can't buy a house for under $20,000.
Ammunition has doubled in price, if you can find it. Same with reloading components.
Firearms. Each year I help run a fund raising banquet with about 50 guns. This year Benelli and Mossberg have pulled out nationwide from letting us buy from them for the banquet. Benelli = Ferrari. Mossberg = Ford.
My bulk cable/wifi accounts went up from $72 to $77 a month for each service address.
Pool chlorine, no explanation necessary.

Can't tell if you're being sarcastic... We still import a huge amount of oil. When they cut supply it drives prices up.
EDIT: And if it gets high enough, I doubt resistance to the pipeline and other laws against increased domestic production will win out against the annoyance of higher consumer prices and the allure to politicians of greater lobbying money to carry these programs out. My two cents, at least.Bench: 350

Yeah, that's embarrassing and exudes weakness IMO. I'm not commenting on the desirability of the situation, but rather the current economic scenario as it is.
Are you saying they're behaving with reprisal towards us for instigating something, or that we should be more belligerent towards them? Saudi Arabia and the UAE have decent relations with the US, relative to the region in general. If you mean the former, I'm not sure what you could be referring to, and if you mean the latter, I don't know what policy would be productive, as pertains oil prices.Bench: 350

I can definitely feel the pinch of inflation. When I was a kid there was a big chain place called 19 Cent Hamburger stand, later it changed to 29 cent hamburger stand. Tacos and bean burritos were 59 cents at Taco Bell, and they had a 39 cent Fiesta menu. Big Macs were 2 for $2, Whoppers were 99 cents. Ice Cream at Thriftys was 15 cents, 20 cents for double scoop and 25 cents for a triple. When I was 19 I bought my first brand new car, it was a 1994 Toyota truck for $7699. I remember the “scare” of if we went to war with Iraq in the early 90s it was going to push the price of gasoline to over the $1 mark, people acted like it was the end of the world, gas had never been that much.

- met someone at some ice cream shop near centerville, ohio and the shop wanted like 6 bucks for 2 a little cup of it or something crazy. not sure what it was before but 6 bucks for like 2.5 scoops of icecream seems stupid high. i was meeting a girl there, was going to just pay whatever but wood not go back with those kinds of prices.
- some of the Thorntons in Ohio (SW Ohio near cincy) used to have self serve ice cream cones that were hnnnnnnnnnnng cuz it let you have all the toppings you wanted (m and m's, sprinkles, etc) for literally just 99 cents, i mean what deal, but now are now $2.49 for the smallest cup, like 4 bucks for the biggest. pi$$ poor shame thats gone srs
- also noticed the 10pc ryobi drill bit set and the 10pc i think it is driver set went up from 14.99 regular to 19.99.

Some of you have probably never heard/seen a corn dispenser. There is one in my town. You put money in the machine and it dispenses a predetermined amount of corn out the tube and into the container that you brought with you. Last year $40 would get 450 pounds of corn. Yesterday $40 gets 360 pounds of corn. You might be wondering why people need to buy corn in 100 pound increments in Kansas. That dispenser is made to look like you are buying corn to feed deer. But corn is the primary feedstock ingredient for making moonshine. General rule of thumb is 50 pounds of corn makes a gallon of 'shine. A friend of mine is an accountant, and he makes 'shine. His vision is pretty bad though.
