    Triathlon/ Bodybuilding advice

I'm a 17 year-old Tri-athlete. I stared going to the gym three years ago and then became more interested in triathlons. Since then I've gotten quite lean and I am quite fit. However i'm looking for a more built aesthetic.

I swim, run and cycle throughout the week and have two days a week allocated to gym work but I feel as though i'm doing it wrong. What exercises should i be doing, should i be doing high rep low weight or low rep high weight etc.

Looking for advice really on how to maximise my aesthetic while not focusing too much on strength.

    Thanks.

Aesthetics are subjective, but if by that you mean increase in muscle mass you're going to need to start eating more. You probably burn a ton of calories daily. You can lift all the weights you want, but if you're not eating at a caloric surplus to what you burn, you're not going to grow.

Hypertrophy is driven by a caloric surplus to TDEE, progressive weight training and rest.

A competitive triathlete will eat +5,000 calories per day. The Pros will eat +7,000 per day. I don't know how you would be able to add much mass. It doesn't really go with the territory.

Your best bet would be to go on a two day a week strength program that lets you **** around with percentages, 5/3/1 2 day option or tactical barbell fighter is pretty good. Reason I say this over linear 5x5 is because im not sure if youll be able to handle full body LP programs while also doing the **** loads of endurance training you tri-athletes are known for. Also; sport tends to dictate how you look. Look at most good tri-athetles, they tend to have a very specific body type and "aesthetic" across the board. Its for a reason.
