Psoralens used to be added to tanning lotions but the FDA decided the risk of cancer was too great so except for PUVA treatment for psoriasis they are no longer used in their chemical form, however many tanning lotions contain st. johns wart, bergamont, celery, watermelon, ect. that have Psoralens in them and from what I can tell this is perfectly legal.
The thing im interested in know is if someone marketed st. johns wort a perfect legal supp AS a tanning enhancer would it still be legal?

Plants produce psoralens to protect themselves from predation or mechanical damage. Marmesin is the precursor to psoralen, a compound which has been implicated as a carcinogen. It starts to form in high quantities when variants of psoralens are selectively breeded to increase shelf life and to fight off pathogen infection. So it may be that only natural psoralens are allowed these days
Just a guess.Never quit!
