I have been looking for a Cybex modular cable crossover. Decided I wanted this rather than a functional trainer and just missed one from a local reseller. I might even consider just a single cable column. The local reseller has some new inventory, no pics yet, that is apparently purple, so obviously from planet fitness. Good thing is the equipment will probably have very little use on it. Bad thing is the horrible purple color. No offense to atty and the few others who have some purple walls and equipment in a much better shade of purple. I don't think repainting or refinishing is an option. There are a few for sale around the country but shipping is too much so I want to buy locally.
So would you buy a planet fitness piece for your gym.

If the price is good, yes.
If you are really, really upset by the color, take the large covers off & have a shop that wraps cars do a wrap job for you. This will probably make the "deal" a "terrible buy", but it's an option. Another option is to plasti-dip the pieces.
Why is repainting not an option?Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

Will it help you meet your goals, and is it well priced?
If the purple really bothers you, surely there is a way to repaint/retouch (most of) itMISC Blood Drive (MOD REPS): https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=175220881

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Hey, you made a good point about it probably not having much use since it's from PF. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if the price is good and it's the piece I wanted. Guys around here have figured out ways to handle much more difficult refinishing jobs than what you are describing.

I long ago abandoned wirrying about color. I want the best equipment my money can buy me and i find restricting nyseif to specific colors just makes it too hard to get what i want. I figure Either a piece needs the be refinished if its rough and i wont mind finishing it when i hage time, or if its in good shaoe, i just acceot it not matching. That said, new items i buy in black and red. White is also a coloe i have a lot of and works well with the black red finish. I fond most equipment falls ibto that, but i habe some body master grey abd purple and it just doesn't bother me much.

I think Planet Fitness uses Life Fitness. YouFit is purple and uses Cybex. At least that is what I have seen. YouFit equipment gets used pretty hard. In South Florida I moved around to 3 different new YouFit locations as they opened. All about 10 minutes from my house. All the equipment was Cybex VR3. Kind of light duty for high use gyms. After about a year, a lot of things are broken or just plain worn out. Look over the stuff you are interested in pretty close. The cable crossover which each gym has one, gets constant use.

From this site: http://www.sensationalcolor.com/colo...9#.WUMIUpD3arU
"Purple embodies the balance of red’s stimulation and blue’s calm. This dichotomy can cause unrest or uneasiness unless the undertone is clearly defined, at which point the purple takes on the characteristics of its undertone. With a sense of mystic and royal qualities, purple is a color often well liked by very creative or eccentric types and is the favorite color of adolescent girls."
My concern about painting is that I'm terrible at painting and it will turn out poorly. However, I have seen you guys do miracles with refinishing equipment. We are hopefully going to do some work on the house soon. Maybe I'd get lucky too and have the contractor do the painting for me.I quote with pics. ()---() York Barbell Club #78 (DD) ()---()
