$1.50 Gas Prices Are Hereand $1 Per Gallon Could Be Next
Nation's cheapest gas is just $1.39 per gallon.
http://time.com/money/4129604/gas-pr...-gallon-cheap/Prices are likely to get cheaper still, as earlier forecasts have called for fuel costs to keep dropping at least through the end of the year. Last week, a 24/7 Wall St. story noted that a range of factors, including increased oil refinery output, low gas taxes, and cheap oil prices due to a global surplus, could drive the price toward $1 in some states.
http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/201...g_gas_bel.htmlOversupply and a strengthening U.S. dollar will hold down global oil prices and keep costs low here. OPEC is meeting next week but isn't expected to make major adjustments to the production.
All those factors should keep gas prices low for a while. And, as a report in 24/7 Wall Street recently pointed out, if the price of a barrel of oil drops to $20 as some have projected, the states with the cheapest gas could see prices as low as $1 per gallon.
Come election 2016 gas will be hovering around $1 a gallon. This will be one of the nails in the Republican coffin.

First as always Obama has very little control of gas prices.
Next. I doubt you can get the crude out of the ground, refine it, transport it, and sell it for 50 Cents. The taxes per gallon nationally are almost 49 cents.Finance Degree - USAF INTEL - IIFYM - Injured Crew - KTM XCW300 - Single Track Trail Rider - NRA Supporter - Shunned from MFC - Libertarian - Pragmatist

If you remember, which you don't because of your tiny liberal brain, when bush left office, prices were around $1.20

Strange that Ecto wasn't blaming Obama for the previous four years of high gas prices, but now he's conveniently in control and gets all the credit when, as the cited article points out, non-Presidential issues such as global oil production and state gas taxes are at play.
Isn't it sad the only way to prop up Obama's "accomplishments" is to give him credit for things he has no control over?

Strange that Obama would unilaterally decide to bottom out gas prices after decreeing that high gas prices were good for the country. Essentially what you're saying is Obama is doing everything in his power to increase emissions and stifle green energy, and is therefore one of if not the biggest enemies of the environment and instigators of climate change.

So the high gas prices were Bush's fault but the low prices are directly because of Obama?

Gas was cheap when Obama took office because the entire world was in the grip of The Great Bush Recession.Once Obama took over and started repairing the damage of 8 years of Republican ruin industries around the world started rolling again resulting in an increase demand for oil.
Yep.
Yep again.Obama is setting Hillary up for an easy slam dunk.

So, Obama now controls "industries around the world"...even though that wasn't cited anywhere in your quoted articles?

"So if gasoline gets up to ten bucks a gallon, eight bucks a gallon and that's more in line with what alternative energy is, then alternative energy becomes more acceptable...I'm just telling you the bottom line: Rising gas prices, that's the plan. Economic suffering is the plan. Old Chester's got too many cars: Two. He doesn't deserve them. He's not entitled to that many cars. It doesn't matter if he works hard and got the money to pay for them himself. It's not fair. He shouldn't have that many cars. Nobody needs that many cars."

"One of the leading, or primary, reasons why the price of oil is down, and gasoline, is demand. Demand is down. And the demand is down because the U.S. economy's in the tank...you won't find very many experts acknowledge this because it contradicts the idea that the economy is roaring back."

The price of oil has been driven down by a massive market oversupply. The reason we have so much supply circulating is because OPEC, in a bid to fight off US shale production, has been pumping out a ridiculous amount a BPD. Shale is more expensive to produce, and at the moment, Shale is being pumped and distributed at a loss.
The reason shale producers have been able to keep going is because the cost of borrowing money is low.The cost of borrowing money is set by the fed. The fed chairman is nominated by the president and selected by the fed board members, who are also selected by the president.
The president has a very real albeit indirect impact on the cost of oil"Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity"
