There is no evidence after how many thousands of years?
If you want to believe in fables written by stone aged goatherds from the middle east (very enlightened people I must say) more power to you.
I will spend my time investing in tangible things. We'll all end up in the same place eventually. Food for worms. There is no afterlife.Motorcycle crew

I'm just curious in asking why you believe in some sort of higher power yet dislike organized religion (which I believe to be the root of almost all evil in this world)? What reasons do you have to believe there is a higher power? I feel like almost all of us were exposed to organized religion when we were young and even though many people leave organized religion they seem to never let go the believe in a higher power.
Just curious, not bashing you.

There could be a god, but why would he let all dem people starve to death, and let all dem evil people live well. Something doesn't add up when you subtract love and find genuine happiness. When guys like me get everything and young little boys are going i bed hungry. Is God hungry? Hungry for destruction or construction of devilish activities in the night, buildings being burned while the architects weep in the alleys of darkness. Is God the architect of just an artifact created by man for moral compass. What happens when the compass breaks and we are left without direction
There is only one direction
And the noise ain't pretty folks

I see the need for people to believe in some form of afterlife because it provides comfort and a sense of order to those who follow the teachings. That being said, the whole my God is right and yours is wrong so off with your head deal is ridiculous. Seems very possible that a lot of the writings were merely an attempt to scare and control primitive people. Wish I could find a way to believe in it, but I find it hard to stray away from objective evidence.

No
Even tho I used to until I traced the origins of the universe until now and realized the logical progression of spacetime and physics
In some ways, it was a good feeling to believe in a higher power who personally cared about u
But seeing the universe as it is has allowed me to see humans for what we r and cut thru a lot of the political BS and my own BS
Dammit, y cant we all just get along
Dammit brahs and brahettes we all gonna make it ... aesthetics 5ver

I will never understand how people can say, either way, that a god either exists or it doesn't.
There is not one shred of evidence that indicates that our universe has a creator yet, at the same time, it is impossible for us to "disprove" the notion that the universe may have a creator.
So surely the logical position to take on the matter is that of agnosticism? Until legitimate evidence is provided for the existence of a god, the intellectually honest thing to do would be to withhold judgement. Anyone that tells you that they are absolutely certain that a god exists is lying to you... just as a person that tells you that they are absolutely certain that a god doesn't exist is also lying to you.
