I had my first of 2 free sessions with a 20 something female trainer whose quite pretty. She recommended a particular brand of protein bar to me. I asked her what her favorite flavor is. (Yes, I'm getting to the question) I see her again next week. I feel odd for taking her time with the free sessions. Would it be weird or inappropriate to bring her a case of her favorite bar? I don't want her to feel awkward, but I do want her to know I appreciate her time. Would she see it as that, or would I come across as an old perv?

As long as you don't ACT creepy about it, then I don't see it as a big deal at all. Personally, I would really appreciate the thought, especially since many gyms don't pay trainers for the free sessions they give away (those are often seen as a trainer's opportunity to gain a client.) Just explain your reasoning, and don't do anything awkward (like harass her with texts afterwards), and it will be fine!

I actually think that tipping would be more appropriate than giving a present in this case. Of course, I'm assuming that you're trying in good faith to give this trainer (who just so happens to be a woman) compensation for their time, not because you're trying to get an "in" with a pretty lady. Whatever you choose to offer, give it at the very end of the session, just before you say goodbye and leave, so that she doesn't get the sense that you're trying to get her attention for a date or something. (You're not, right?)

You don't need a woman trainer's advice, the ones here like others would be are being tactful with you. We won't.
My answer: no, she does not want to have sex with you.
Yes, I know, it's totally innocent. That's why you mentioned she was a pretty young woman. Don't give her a case of protein bars. She's not interested in you as a man, only as a potential client.

Simply by mentioning her looks, you answered your own question.
Would you do this for your tax preparer/accountant?
Would you do this for the guy that has done your dry cleaning for 5 years?
You had two free sessions, and you want to show your appreciation…..REFER her to others. Word will get back to her…she will know you appreciated her time.NASM-MMACS
