    Post Wendler 5/3/1 BBB (Cutting)

    Hi,

    I have ran wendler 5/3/1 before but not the BBB (Big But Boring). I was looking for opinions on if it would be advisable to run the programme on a cut.
    I have read that Wendler suggests eating big on this programme.

    At present I'm targeting: 130C/200P/80F - 2080 kcal's
    Height: 6FT
    Weight: 85KG

    My main goals are strength a muscle gains whilst cutting body fat, obviously in relation to the cut (not expecting huge gains). Im looking for feedback on the programme if you have ran it yourself and the results and if you would suggest an cardio alternatives to the one suggested in the programme (2 mile walk)

    Just wondering why you are trying to cut at 6' 85kg?

    I'm 5'7" at 79kg and I could still use a bit more weight. Right now I am cutting with 2400 cals and no cardio. Are you not taking your TDEE into account?
    I'm not sure why your cals are so low, I think you would drop both fat and muscle too quickly.

    It's probably not the best idea, but I'm running a PHAT style training with 5/3/1 on top of it spread across the week. So far things are going great. I'll see how long I can maintain it. 1 month down - 3kg down, almost all fat. Stronger as well.

    Cutting at 85kg 6ft? if youre not looking to get contest lean i would keep trying to put some solid mass on, also those calories look pretty low,
    Current lifts (raw) bw 230
    Squat = 480
    Bench = 315
    Deadlift = 605

    2k kcal per day sounds like a recipe for disaster unless you are a 5'3" 130 lb female. Eat to fuel the body you want to have.

    If I wanted to lose weight while running the 5/3/1 as laid out, I would scale back accessory work. Probably would do the triumvate option or even the ain't doing jack option.

    Chose a goal. Get stronger or leaner. You can do both but it'll only last for so long.
