What to do after StrongLift's 5X5 Program?

Hey Guys, I'm nearing the end of this program and was wondering what should I be doing once it is done? Should I be looking into deloading or can I do another round of this? Thanks in advance.

It wouldn't hurt to deload for a week if it feels like your body needs it, if you're feeling good then just go for another round. I personally only do deloading if I feel like my body absolutely needs it, which isn't often.

I'm curious what you mean by "nearing the end". Are you having to deload every other week because it's too much, or are you just done with a particular length of time?

You most likely need to rerun it as there are always gains to be made on a such a program as starting strength when done and ran correctly. If you are just getting bored then that's another issue to look at.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. By nearing it's end I mean I have 3 weeks left of the program. I have been able to progress each week without too much problem and just wanted info on what the next program should be. As for my physique change, when I started I was in the 150 lbs zone and been taking a calorie surplus and around 159-160lbs now.

Ah. That's the first issue to address. There is no time limit to be on SL. Mehdi lays out his spreadsheet for 12 weeks, but that doesn't mean you MUST stop after 12 weeks.

Then your next program is more SL.

Again, you don't stop doing SL just because a certain amount of time has passed. You only move on once you are deloading too frequently, or not recovering properly. When that happens, just switch from 5x5 to 3x5. If that is still too much, then move on to madcows.

Trust me, milk the gains from linear progression as long as you can.
