I am confused. One brand it says "Do not take on an empty stomach"
MetRx
Directions For Liquid L-Carnitine 1500: For adults, take one (1) tablespoon (15 mL) thirty to sixty minutes before exercise with your pre-workout meal. A second serving should be taken with your post-workout meal. Do not take on a empty stomach. As a reminder, discuss the supplements and medications you take with your health care providers.
Another brand says to take "preferably on empty stomach".
Now
Directions For L-Carnitine Liquid - Triple Strength: Shake well before using. As a dietary supplement, take one tablespoon daily, preferably on an empty stomach.
Night and day ?

I take lclt on an empty stomach more or less.
Try to split the dose though throughout the day to help keep carnitine levels elevated throughout the day. So let's say you're trying to hit 2 grams a day, split that up into 4 doses. 500 mg x 4.
Reason? Because when you take a large bulbous dose, a lot of the excess carnitine just ends up getting flushed out.Completed Logs & Reviews:
