I got this based on some recommendations here and i was worried about it.
When I got home from work yesterday this was sitting jut inside the front door. My wife said the guy struggled just to get it that far - I laughed.
It is around 70 lbs.
I have not had much of a chance to try it out yet and probably won't today either but it is much nicer then I ever thought it would be and super comfortable to use - on the neck and my shoulders.
these pics and the ones on fts do not do this bar justice. it is a great looking bar. hopefully i will get a chance to beat it up a bit tomorrow

When did you buy this and how much did it cost? EilteFTS has free shipping for 2 more hours. I can't seem to find the safety squat bar on the site. I see a slightly different version: http://www.flexcart.com/members/elit...d=212&pid=1156
Your version appears to be part of a larger bundle: http://www.flexcart.com/members/elit...d=114&pid=6466

I watched the video on it.
I would get this over the older SS bar for one reason. NO POWDER COAT. I own the original swiss bar & the powder coat comes off as if it has dandruff. Quality is lacking.
I wish they offered the long handles, but otherwise, it looks like a better product & I bet they discontinue the older model.
Do the collars fit or was that for show?Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

Thanks for that info! I'd be hard pressed to pick up one since I have a SSB, but if anything happened, I'd get this bar. Fitting collars is HUGE!
How's the padding? They claim it's improved & beefed up.
You're a big dude & i'm not tiny, so the extra padding might be nice.
Congrats on getting a good bar that meets & exceeds your expectations. It's like Christmas all over again isn't it? lolCrews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59

I'll chime on while you wait for tmonkey. I've had the Elite SS Yoke Bar for over a year and I love it. Couple of thoughts:
-The padding hasn't "settled" and is still holding it's shape.
-The pleather around the padding isn't showing any signs of wear or potential tearing.
-The clear finish is chipping off a little where the bar sits in the rack, but that's unavoidable with any coating
-One of the handles has a crack in the plastic grip, but I don't notice it. Honestly, I noticed it a while back and I'm not 100% convinced it didn't happen in shipping and I just overlooked it.
Solid bar. I'd buy it again.()---() York Barbell Club #54 ()---()

The handles are plenty long. Honestly any longer and they might throw my leverage off. The original SSB they sold just had the pads and no handles I believe.
Also, these handle are detachable. They are threaded and screw into the bar inside the pads. It's not going to break though. Serious threads.()---() York Barbell Club #54 ()---()

This bar looks identical to Crepinsek Safety Squat Bar.

I have the Elite Yoke Bar, which is the one that is welded together and has the detachable long handles. I like it a lot, although I wish the drop on the sleeves was maybe an inch longer. I occasionally feel like it is going to fall off my back. I can mitigate this by having it just a tad higher on my neck.
I thought I would like the long handles more, but I find that the shorter nubs are plenty for me to hang onto for the most part. The long handles get in the way if I use assist handles on my rack.

I've been using it for regular squats, and have really enjoyed using it. It's helped me stay much tighter with my back, and I've seen a pretty good carryover from it to my low bar squat and sumo deadlift.
I'm actually about to start a cycle of box squats with it so I'll keep you posted! I'll have to try the OHP with it.BS: 505 (sleeves)

Awesome. I only started using recently for squats, so I'm hoping for a carryover. I've had to cut the weight in half though and slowly work back up.
The only reason I use it for OHP is because of my low ceilings. Don't have clearance for a regular loaded bar. The one caution I have about OHP is because it swings, it can cause some extra stress on the low back. At least that's what I've experience, and have had to reset the weight because of that. Now, I'm trying to teach myself to stay very tight.
Too good to be true - the EFS SSB went up to 349!Last edited by jackbravo; 05-27-2014 at 10:50 PM.
