Vagitatian has accused me of adding nothing of value to the forums. I'm offended by this. So now I must make a legit thread with no troll bait. (That's no fun)
So here is the question....
which console are you buying on launch day, and more importantly WHY
I'm genuinely curious why people will choose one console over another.
PC gamers are encouraged to participate, but without the "master race elitism" bull****. I'll delete those posts.
Can we have a civil discussion without trolling?
I'll start:
I waited until E3 to make a decision. I was honestly hoping that Microsoft would offer something big, and not rely on gimmicky gesture based stuff with kinect.
For me, I buy consoles to game. I used to build gaming pcs, and realized that those games are a lot harder to pt down than console games and my life doesn't support the amount of time one usually devotes to MMOs.
I like the exclusive titles for he play station better, despite owning both a ps3 and many 360sin the past.
Ok, Vagitarian. How's this thread? Is this "contributing" to the section adequately enough for you?

Good boy.
I'm not going to buy the launch version, but I will likely get the PS4 Slim whenever that comes out.
PS4 is the gamer's console of choice...As a consumer and gamer you shouldn't support Micro$oft's anti-consumer practices.
PS4 = Everything we liked about last gen + updated with a better online. Sure you have to pay now just like XBL, but at least they are giving free games.MAGA

I'm going with the PS4. It just outweighs the XB1 in every which way, and this is coming from a 360 fan boy.
-No DRM
-Used Game Friendly
-No mandatory HAL9000
-Doesn't use up 30% of DDR to run OS
-Free Games! (Well, not really, but at least they give you something for a subscription fee.)
-More powerful than XB1 and $100 cheaper.
Pretty much, the only thing that sucks about the PS4 right now, is the fact it wont come with an XB controller.
So yeah, I'm going to pre-order one either today or tomorrow.
I don't want to miss out.â–º South Florida Crew

can we get a poll in here?
anyway:
ps4 has better hardware, will have an improved gaming network, no BS used game restrictions, no always online, no kinect and it will be lower priced.
i am not looking for an entertainment system, i just want something to watch hulu plus and play video games and blu rays.
If Sony comes out with a controller akin to the xbox controller...they will enter god mode.PS4

Aside from your anti Microsoft sentiment, of which I assume is due to the drm and online check requirements, what else drives you towards a ps4 vs. an xbone?
This is what I've gathered with what I've read this far.
Hardware specs: PS4
Game title quality(subjective): PS4
Used games: PS4
Controller ergonomics: xbone
Media center: xbone
Indie developer engagement: PS4
DRM requirement: xbone
Online "check ins": xbone
Price point: PS4
Hardware aesthetic: PS4Redwings|Badgers|Packers

I've been pretty loyal to PlayStation since the PSOne which definitely affected my decision somewhat, however, after seeing E3 announcements as well as other information around the web I feel pretty confident in my decision to go for the PS4 and thus have preordered it from Amazon.
I don't find backwards compatibility to be a huge issue as I don't buy a system to play games from 3 years ago. However, I don't always want to have to be online as I often take my console with me to a friends house etc and don't feel like I should be required to log in to their wifi.
As I use the system solely for gaming the PS4 is definitely the choice for me, the hardware is slightly more impressive and the games to come look good; I've never enjoyed Halo or Gears or War.
My flat mate has a 360 and I don't mind it, but I find games like FIFA respond better on the PlayStation; it seems quicker. Taking in to account the access to free games etc that I also get with PlayStation Plus and I don't really see any reason as to why I would "jump ship".☆☆☆υк ¢яєω☆☆☆

You understand that you just admitted to having 2 accounts, and have an inappropriate user name right? Both of which are bannable permanently.
I highly suggest you cease posting on this account and wait out your ban. Unless you feel it was unjust. If you do, pm me the details and I will look into it.Redwings|Badgers|Packers

PS4 is basically better in every category...not to mention the whole Kinect watching you and have to be plugged in 100% of the time for the console to function.
MS usually makes god mode controllers, but Sony has redesigned/updated the controller a bit and made it wider, it used to be too small...We are gunna have to see how the new design feels. It looks pretty sexy and nice to hold.
The Xbone might have some neat extra media features, but do I really want to pay $50/year and still have to see advertisements all over my dashboard? That's unacceptable.
There is just nothing man, I wouldn't even take an Xbone for free because I know I would never play it.MAGA

-i like the exclusives better, was raised on halo than kingdom hearts so I naturally perfer them.
-close friends only play xbox also
-NFL contract
-fantasy football setup
-gf and family like kinect games
-rather support an american company
-my xbox live will carry over.

The two bolded should go to PS4 since you're pointing out the good things in this list.
PS4 wont have DRM or "online check-ins", which is a very strong selling point.
But yeah, XB1 has the best controller configuration ever. The only controller I think I might like a little bit more is the WiiU's gamepad, mainly because I can play Mario and watch TV at the same time.â–º South Florida Crew

Why? Have fun waiting until 2017 to play a PS4. The launch PS3 was 10x better than the slim anyway. Backwards compatability>>>>>>
Anyway, I will likely get a Playstation 4. The Xbox one is just an embarrassingly pathetic attempt at a console. Don't care about Halo TV. I want to play games, and their PSN looks amazing from what we've seen so far. Way better than the current Xbox Live, which I like a lot. I was kinda disappointed when I heard that they're now charging for multiplayer, but it's been expected for years and their PS+ service may be worth it.
Saying that, I still believe Microsoft has something up their sleeve. I cannot believe they would be this stupid. Charging for used games and checking online every 24 hours? This HAS to be a set up to make the Xbox look weaker than what will ultimately be released...

For me personally it wouldn't be an issue other than an annoyance. I don't appreciate the big brother mentality of the checks but that doesn't affect me personally. If the box has to check in its always connected at home anyways.
That wasn't really a factor for me personally, but I don't necessarily think that the requirement is a good thing.Redwings|Badgers|Packers

I'm fine with that brah.
I bought a PS3 and 360 at launch and I only played them for about a month each before they collected dust for the rest of their lifespan.
One thing that PlayStation will always have over Xbox is that it always feels like something new, different, futuristic...maybe that's just me. But it always feels like, "Damn, this is really a next gen console."MAGA

PS4. I currently own a PS3 (fat 60gb) and PS Vita. Purchased the PS3 on launch day back in 2006. Can't wait to add the PS4 to my collection. No DRM, eye or camera required, no extra used game fees, no region code, more powerful. Excited to have 440 more gigs on the PS4 vs PS3.
