    Rack pulls

Hey everybody, ive recently started doing rack pulls to help my lower back on my deadlifts. Is this a good change?

IMO for bodybuilding purpose Rack pull > Conventional Deadlifts.

Yes, rack pulls are more dominant on the traps and lower/upper back. You can also do more weight (with most people)

How is a rack pull greater then a conventional dead lift? A rack pull only focuses on a limited range of motion with heavier weight?

Rack pulls are good for the traps and practicing your lock out for the deadlift. If you have a good lock out theyre kind of useless...lockout is basically after you pass your knees. If you have the opposite problem where you are weak on the pull you can deadlift on a elevated platform or some rubber 45 plates. Good mornings are killer for your lower back as well as hamstrings.

And that is what you want for bodybuilding. Emphasizing specific musculature - in this case a particular portion of the posterior chain - to greater levels of stress.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.
