What makes shooting landscapes more complicated is you have no control over the situation. You could find the perfect composition but if the weather isn't playing along, there's not much you can do but wait or return another time.
At least photographing people you can give them direction and even if they're not that comfortable having their photo taken, you'll usually come away with a few good shots.

Very good point. I've never been a take a bunch now and sort them out later type of shooter, but sometimes that's how it is.
I still struggle with my landscape composition. That's what I'm focusing the most on. It's crazy how moving over 1 ft. can turn an bleh picture into a wow picture based on foreground interest, lighting, horizon, etc.*LF Chat Crew

I don't know, I'm usually against that kind of post processing, but considering the style/look/purpose, imo I think it's fine.

Although the lower video quality really turns me off, I think I'm going with the D90 over the D3100.

Canon released a new ultra-sensitive video sensor. Pretty cool. (It's only ~2mp though, so HD video but not great for large stills)

Lol. "Video" on Nikon automatically gets the mark of "Lower Video Quality" regardless of what camera you are using - dSLR Videography is a Canon thing. I wouldn't use that as a deciding factor personally. I would go as far as saying: compared to the D3100, you could get similar video quality with a modern smartphone like an iPhone 4s
I would go with the d90 solely because of the more solid construction and built in motor to name but a few of many other small things that "prosumer" model has over the d3100.*Misc Photography Crew*

My bf wants me to snap a couple pics of his car for a sale ad. Only he is really torn up over selling his baby so he wants an artistic one for himself too(I wish I was kidding. lol) He's thinking something at night. I have the Texas Motor Speedway right here I'm thinking of using the light for behind but what kind of light do I need in front? Since it's parked, I can go nice and high on ISO. I was thinking about using my SB-600 on a light stand with a soft box. Any suggestions on neat lighting???

I found one for you.
I agree Canon has the edge (no surprise, they're a big player in broadcast equipment) but they've improved a lot and the D800 actually forced Canon to offer a major firmware update to allow uncompressed HDMI, something they'd prefer to charge big bucks for. Canon has vastly superior in-camera noise reduction (at the expense of fine detail, you can't have both) but you can always apply it in post.

Mind = BLOWN
Not only is this technology @ a trillion FPS (a fukin TRILLION) This dude is going to offer it open-source to the market for developers. Makes me realize that I will be purchasing a new fancy cam every 2-3 years for the rest of my life. BRB, RECORDING LIGHT AS IT ENTERS A BOTTLE.
If you're short on time, see light entering a bottle @ circa 2:00 mark.
EDIT: For some scope (he goes over it in the movie. Watch all 11 min if you have time), it would take a bullet 1 year to get from one side of the frame to the other @ this speed.*LF Chat Crew

I need some car photography tips! I picked up a Canon T3 over the winter, and have my dads old lenses for his. I figured the 35mm lens will be the best for this stuff. Just looking for tips on settings so I don't have to rely on the presets in the camera and can fine tune the shots myself.
