Can anyone recommend a good weightlifting shoe for me. I do crossfit and my trainer is really big into olympic lifting, he recommended the Addidas powerlifting trainer, unfortunately they only come in Mens sizes and my feet are too small for the smallest available size. Id like to spend under $100 if possible. Thanks

When it comes to true Olympic Weightlifting shoes there is no men's or women's in many cases. The shoes are the size they are and they expect you to figure out what size you need on your own.
Fortunately, Pendlay does have a women's specific model shoe for close to $100.00 but it looks like it's sold out right now.

Personally I use the Nike Romaleos 2 shoe which you can get at Rogue Fitness but they're closer to $200.00, but they're freakin' awesome. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with other brands of shoe so I'm not any help there. In my opinion though price should not be an option when it comes to true Oly shoes. The importance of quality and stability cannot be overstated enough. Just keep in mind that they're completely worthless for anything but Oly lifting. You sure as **** can't do crossfit in them.
Here's a piece of an article written by my coach about sizing your shoe.

If you really wanted to spend some money you can also get some shoes custom made by Risto Sports.

As an added note I do have a friend that uses these things when she's doing Crossfit workouts.

She's had to use them a couple times in a pinch for Oly specific training when she forgot her other shoes (she also uses the Nike Romaleos 2). Unfortunately she said they just don't work very well when trying to do true Olympic lifting, they're not stable enough, so I would recommend against trying to get the best of both worlds which is what Reebok is trying to pull off with these things and as far as I can tell failing miserably.Last edited by j1akey; 12-13-2012 at 09:34 AM.

I use these and love them. http://www.muscledriverusa.com/2011-...ray_p_839.html
They're on sale but there's only a few sizes left. I think there have been other threads - maybe in the 'training' subforum, where several females have posted links/pictures of the shoes they have. It might give you more ideas.http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=172554141

The $100 budget was because theyre going to be a xmas gift from my inlaws, i heard amazing reviews about the nike roms but i cant ask for them. in typical mom fashion i never buy anything full priced for myself, the shoes would only be used for the oly part of the session.

Hey Elly - nice ink and awesome progress! If you're doing CrossFit, you might as well get the shoes were designed specifically for it - the Reebok Olys. There is a pretty good review here - http://wlshoes.com/review/reebok-cro...tlifting-shoe/
They are a little outside your budget but they are well made and should last a long time. If your coach is recommending a weightlifting shoe then he wants you wearing something with a heel specifically for lifting, so Vibrams, NB Minimus, Reebok nanos and other minimalist shoes are probably not what you want.
Hope that helps!
