Welcome to the Fallout 4 Discussion thread, here you can find daily updates, news and more.
For most of you i know your all getting tired of skyrim, i have always been a huge fan of the fallout series and perfered it much more than i did skyrim. thats why i have started this thread for anyone else who is also exited to see the next fallout game, post your ideas, things you want to see in the fallout 4, and what you want bethesda to change from previous games.
Recent Fallout 4 news
Fallout fans have been clamoring for a proper Bethesda-developed followup to the third installment ever since the release of Obsidian’s New Vegas. Well rumor has it that Fallout 4 is currently in the works and will be set in Boston.
According to a report from an anonymous Reddit user, the studio is currently doing a bit of research in Boston, specifically MIT.
The rumors are true, Fallout 4 will take place in Boston. In case you haven’t heard, Bethesda has recently been scoping out and researching Boston. They also have a strong connection to MIT. I may or may not be an MIT employee. But that’s really all I can say for fear of losing my job.
It is worth noting that The Commonwealth - Fallout’s version of Massachusetts – has played a significant role in the overarching story that drives the franchise. Fans of Fallout 3 will likely recall an encounter with Dr. Zimmer, a scientist from The Commonwealth who speaks about The Institue, which is likely Bethesda’s take on MIT.

I hope they have it setup like in New Vegas where your decisions affect how people treat you and what faction you are a part of. It gave decision making a purpose, which I like.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

9 Improvements that need to happen in Fallout 4
Link to Article here- http://whatculture.com/gaming/fallou...perfection.php
With rumors and sadly fake trailers circling the web about an upcoming sequel to Bethesda’s new age take on PC gaming’s best RPG series ever, it’s hard not to speculate what might or might not make the cut in the final edition of the fabled Fallout 4. Though no company has made any official claims that a third installment to the Bethesda Fallout line is or will be in the works, Bethesda was quite clear in 2008 when they told TVG that they intend to make several Fallouts. Now, with Fallout: New Vegas losing its steam, and Skyrim still generating new DLC, but beginning to slow down, Bethesda turns its attention to other projects. Their website currently only lists Prey 2 and Dishonored as their current titles in the works, but as fans of the company know, Bethesda doesn’t abandon successful properties. They let them sit for a few years, and then announce to the world that they have been quietly working on a new installment, presumably while flying around in a magic sleigh pulled by flying reindeer. That’s how I envision Bethesda, by the way.*Misc Zombie Response Team*

Fallout 4 could take place in the middle of nowhere and I'd still play it.
Boston sounds cool, I was hoping for something on the west coast, though. A return to Cali or something.

I could never get into FO3, but I really enjoyed playing Fallout New Vegas ....For some reason I dont know if I'll enjoy FO4 either, but I'm still stoked for the game regardless.
That said Bethesda need to hire some new writers, the dialogue in New Vegas puts fallout 3 and Skyrim to shame.Sig line can't be a novel

I just want more RPG elements damnit. More perks, more downsides to the good perks, more situations where you don't have to kill everything necessarily (at least not kill them head on), etc.

Update
There are rumors that Fallout 4 will be set in Boston. They're incredibly unsubstantiated--they come from a random poster on a message board--and the game doesn't even officially exist, but it's such an awesome idea that I want to take it seriously and I want it to be true.
According to the reddit commenter:
"Fallout 4 will take place in Boston. In case you haven't heard, Bethesda has recently been scoping out and researching Boston. They also have a strong connection to MIT. I may or may not be an MIT employee. But that's really all I can say for fear of losing my job. I am telling you it will take place in Boston."
'The Commonwealth' was referenced in 2008's Fallout 3. Four real-world states in the US categorize themselves as Commonwealths: Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Virginia, and Massachusetts. Bethesda lead designer Emil Pagliarulo told 1UP in 2009 that the Commonwealth reference in Fallout 3 was in fact speaking about Massachusetts, not any of the other three states.
Bethesda has declined to comment on the rumor, but given the lore behind The Commonwealth, most notably "The Institute," it's certainly feasible the next Fallout will be set in and around Boston.*Misc Zombie Response Team*

Update
Bethesda Opens a New Studio in Austin
Bethesda Softworks this week announced it will open a new game development studio in Austin Texas. The studio will be named Battlecry Studios and will be headed by Rich Vogel. Vogel was most recently the executive producer for Star Wars: The Old Republic at BioWare Austin, but left soon after a large round of layoffs hit the studio.
“We are very pleased to have someone with Rich’s vast experience join us at Bethesda,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “Rich has a history of building and managing talented development teams and bringing high quality games to market, and we look forward to working with him on a new exciting project.”
What exciting new project, could Andonov be referring to? Vogel’s game industry credits include plenty of MMO experience, including Ultima Online, Star Wars: Galaxies, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Bethesda has already announced The Elder Scrolls Online, an MMO set in Tamriel, where the company’s Elder Scrolls franchise games take place. Vogel’s MMO experience would suggest that Bethesda needs experienced talent to develop future MMOs. Could this mean an MMO version of Bethesda’s other huge franchise, Fallout, could soon be in development. It’s always possible, and Fallout fans have been clamoring for and speculating about a Fallout MMO for years.
Bethesda, through its parent company ZeniMax Media, already owns one game development studio in Austin.

Three Dog, Galaxy news radio host from fallout 3
Erik Todd Dellums, who voiced Galaxy News Radio DJ Three Dog in the game, tweeted earlier today that it looked like he would be reprising his role in the near future.
Almost more exciting than this though is the fact that Dellums confirmed that he was given permission to release the tease (presumably from Bethesda). Taking to Twitter once more, he explained:
you're serious? dude major high 5!
Erik Todd Dellums@ETDellums
@ToastTheRabbit How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed.

Bethesda hiring for next gen game
Many a new video game has been given away accidently by a job listing, but Elder Scrolls developer Bethesda aren’t making that mistake. They have however just started hiring for staff to work on a new game, with the following job description:
‘Bethesda Game Studios is looking for experienced programmers to work on cutting-edge technology for an unannounced game on future-generation consoles.’
It’s also worth noting that we’re talking about developer Bethesda Game Studios here, not Bethesda Softworks – the sister company that publishes games from other companies, such as Arkane Studios’ Dishonored.
In the last 10 years, and apart from a couple of drag racing games, Bethesda Game Studios have only ever worked on The Elders Scrolls and Fallout. And although it’s perfectly possible that the game (not) being described here could be something brand new, rumours have previously hinted that Fallout 4 is on the way and is at least partially based in Boston.
Even without the next generation consoles though Bethesda’s current schedule would make Fallout 4 an obvious guess for a reveal at E3 in June. With one of the series’ voice actors recently hinting that an announcement is imminent.
As with all next gen games though the consoles themselves will have to be announced first, with Sony’s PlayStation 4 widely expected to be revealed at an event on February 20.
In the meantime though Bethesda has finally announced U.S. release dates for Skyrim’s downloadable content on the PlayStation 3. For some reason they’re being released in reverse order, with Dragonborn out on February 12 (February 5 on PC), Hearthfire on February 19, and Dawnguard on February 26.
Knowing how the European PlayStation Store is there’s no guarantee that they’ll be out at the same time in the UK, but at least they’re finally finished. All the downloads will be sold at half price for the first week, as an apology for the huge delay.

Fallout 4 Release Date News; Inon Zur Hints At May 15 Announcement At PAX East And ThreeDog Tweets About A 2014 Release
Ok Fallout 4 fans, our redemption may be coming soon. Despite the utter lack of official announcements from Bethesda, there have been a few teasers that have let us know that a new Fallout game is likely in the works. I'll do a quick recap of the current Fallout 4 release date news before going into the latest leak (and trust me, it's a doozy.)
Read on for more Fallout 4 release date news
So far, there have only been two credible sources of information relating to a yet-to-be-announced-but-probably-being-made-because-seriously-why-not Fallout 4 title. The first is series voice actor Erik Dellums, known in the Fallout 'verse as ThreeDog. ThreeDog has been tweeting little hints to fans that he's working on something big for Bethesda. The first tweet, sent out in January, really stoked the flames of the rumor bonfire.

Going to replay through Fallout 3 again with some mods installed. Had it for 360 but got the PC GOTY edition with just mostly gameplay tweaks and enb so it doesn't screw up the experience too much.
