I was the other guy at the out of business gym where we pulled the unmarked Ivankos from. Here are some cell phone pics of the haul: imgur. com/a/tm6Tq (can't post links yet, remove space)

Having done more research, I think these are probably from the late 70s, early 80s and in fantastic condition for being that old. I don't know what the finish is (almost looks and feels like there is none), but personally I think it looks a lot better than the newer OMs after the greenish hammertone starts getting chipped away on the lip and back.

I will probably keep most of mine, but might look to get rid of some of the smaller plates and 100s.

Happy to answer any questions people may have about the unbranded Ivankos as well. The holes are all machined and the casting is pretty smooth. I think there are machining marks on the back part of the lip (can sort of see in the pics). These particular plates, which look like they were all bought at the same time, do not have any Ivanko branding or m series engraving on the back leading me to believe they are the oldest version of them (can anyone confirm?). They also have no other engravings on the hubs (although I did see 1 5# with a "T"). The 100s have "B" engraved under the "Standard".

I really wish they had the 25s to complete the set. Wonder what happened to them. If anyone out there has matching 25s maybe we can work out a swap. I'd also be interested in swapping for revolvers as I have been looking for a while now and am considering buying new (see posts above).

Nice haul. I've been wanting a set of unbranded 45s to complete my set and here you go with unbranded 100s as well.

i guess that some people might be willing to clean them up with whatever compounds people use to recondition rubber, but i wouldn't want those plates for $1/#

Note that it is Required that you post pics once you acquire plates. ESPECIALLY a new stainless bar.

Sure.. If i indeed pull the plug after going through black friday damage. I don't think i will be getting new SS bar. I will be "shot" at home . plates are in consideration.

The fitness store close by ( 30 min) away from work has listing as " Ivanko Power Bar - $395"

I called them and asked them to give me the model number. If it is infact OBXS - 29mm SS , then it is very tempting.. What do you guys think?

Yes. He sent me close up pics 3 of them. From the pics it looks ok . It is OBS. not OBXS.

So the ask is $395 . So even it is OBS, the retail around $1084. Will be used primarily for Deads and rows.

Straight in the sense no bends or cracks and marks? In the Pics, it looks ok.

$395 is a STEAL if they are in excellent condition. That's definitely the OBS 28mm Olympic bar. I've owned one.. Bench905 has a few. Lol. Awesome bars. Good luck bud

I went and picked it up today. Did the test. The sleeves did not move when the shaft was rotated 180 degrees. But in person the shaft and sleeves had lot more visible markings than in pics.

Here are more close up pics that were taken an hour or so.

Time will tell whether I made the right decision or not.I had to pay uncle Sam 7%. The guy said either cash or credit does not matter. I actually have the receipt for this purchase. I did pay less than advertised.

Btw, there were different weight class old Ivanko Dumbbells. All used, from 2.5 lbs all the way up to 50 lbs i think. I did not pay much attention it.

Nice pickup...but I can tell you the bar is very well cleaned. You can tell by the end cap in the picture of the ad.

Tx. There are some white spots and black dots ( could be rust) on the knurling. Since it is SS, i am thinking of using steel wool to clean it up.

I missed out on one set a few years ago and regretted it ever since. I ordered the 455 lb. set from dumbbell buddy. It seemed like a nice set for price. No real black friday savings, but at least the shipping was included. I'll post some pics once they arrive.

Congrats. I'm satisfied with a mix of OMs, O2Bs, and unbranded for now...but OMEZH is the grail for me.
