No hate.
What do you girls think of each other at the gym?
Such as:
That skinny-fat (look up if not entirely too sure...) girl walking around purposely showing her high estrogen...
That creepy dude sitting on the preacher curl machine gawking harder than Pee-Wee Herman at a porno shop.
What annoys you and such?
Not with specific people, in general gym pet peeves as well.
Just trying to see if we got the same opinions on here...
Not entirely too sure how things work around here, so mix of both?

I don't think about other peole at the gym. I'm too busy thinking about my next set and using good form. If I want to be catty and do the people wating/critique thing I'll go the the carnival and watch the freeks for a while.

I go to the gym at 4am so there's only a few of us there. No ones waiting for any piece of equipment and I don't have to contend with the usual silliness we have all encountered when the gym is packed. As for the hating, none here, everyones there for themselves, and I really couldn't care less what other people are up to as long as they don't interfere with my workout.

The only people I pay attention to are the ones who are in my way. Monopolizing a piece of equipment, that sort of thing. I do have to chuckle at the broskis at my university gym -- there was one guy last week who was singing loudly along to his ipod while deadlifting -- but even the dudes curling in the squat rack can only get so much of my ire. Anyone at the gym is a member of the tribe as far as I'm concerned, and that includes the girls with the barbie weights.
I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of bubble gum.

I train at home now, but when I did go to a gym I was too busy doing my own thing to take much notice of skinny fat chicks and creepy dudes. My only pet peeves were people who didn't wipe down after sweating buckets on equipment, those who couldn't be bothered to unrack the bar, and those who wanted to chit-chat while I'm doing sprints on the treadmill.
Mind strong, body strong.

That's the biggest thing for me. The selfish part of me is happy to see so many cardio bunnies because I hate waiting for equipment, but at the same time, it makes me a bit sad to see them spinning their wheels and getting nowhere. But, I'm not going to be "that person" and interrupt to tell them they're doing it wrong, so I just turn up my music and get to work.

No hate...because it's none of my business how anybody else works out.
While it's tempting sometimes to want to go and say something to somebody doing shoulder presses with 5lb dbs I'd never in a million years offer unsolicited advice (though some of the teenage boys really need it) and I figure if somebody wants muscle they should be able to educate themselves on how to get it.
I do love that my gym has some serious women lifters in it...I mentally applaud when I see some of them go and pump out sets of pull-ups and heavy deads.Goal: Peace, love & happiness...and arms that go bump in the night.

Overall, I'm happy anybody is there working out but like wake said, I wish they'd get educated.
Skinny fat and creepers don't bother me as much as the people that are in my way wasting their time. If you are using the equipment I'm waiting for and not just fukking around, awesome. What annoys the chit out of me though is groups of bros that come in for circle jerk time around the power rack.
I love seeing other women lifting at the gym.

I'll be honest with you, I am a very observant person. I observe the "skinny fat" cardio bunnies who spend their whole lives on the cardio machines and lift only 5-10 dumbbells. I honestly think they could benefit from adding muscle. Its sad that they belong to the misguided population of women who fear looking like a man, bulking...etc.
I havent really noticed the creepy guys. The only guys that annoy me, are the ones hogging all of the 30 pound weights, the ones that strip down to their underwear to observe their muscles in an awkward kind of way, the guys who leave butt sweat stains on the bench seats... and mostly the ones that yell, grunt very loudly, slam heavy weights and use extremely heavy weights with poor form and the ones that "bark annoyingly to their other bros".
The guys AND girls that I see at the gym who are very focused during their lifts, that look like they spend serious time in the gym ; I admire them because I know how much hard work it takes to get themselves in the best shape that they are at. When I see a girl benching with 45 pound plates, I know that, that is the girl I want to be like one day. Like the poster above, I enjoy seeing other women at the gym who are seriously lifting, its very motivating.I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself.

I deliberately make eye contact and smile at ANY female that finds her way into the free weights area of my gym. This is a big effort since Bitch Shield is firmly in place and smile takes major concentration to pull off.
Other than that... I like the eye candy... I like to see people that are strong... i like to see people lifting properly... I like to see people making progress. Probably the most judgmental thought I have is when I see that same dude doing that same routine that hes been doing for years and he looks exactly the same. That prompts a head shake of puzzlement.DL: 285 x 1, SQUAT 225 x 3, BP: 135 x 1 (retired), OHP: 115x 2 (!!!!!)

As others have said, I spend very little time and energy on the other people in the gym, but since you ask:
- When I see overweight women busting their asses at the gym, I think they are really awesome and wish them good luck.
- When I see out of shape women on cardio machines not even breaking a sweat because too busy yapping on the phone, I wonder why they even bother.
- When I see women in great shape, especially if they are lifting, I find them inspirational and they make me want to work even harder.
- When I see women in the weight area, lifting 5lbs I want to facepalm.

But in all seriousness, I rush in their with my baby, put him in daycare, gotta get out before his nap and snack, why on earth do I have time to give a **** about anyone else?
Maybe when I was 19 I would have cared but now? I got laundry that needs to be done...

I am tempted to correct both men and women on form for big lifts. I am not an expert or anything, but when I see people making obvious mistakes I wonder if I could be helpful in any way without seeming condescending or weird.
I also kinda LOL at girls doing millions of crunches and obese people doing crunches (but still think it is good that they're AT a gym) and if I see a cute guy I compare his calves/quads to his upper body to see if he *actually* lifts."Learn from the past, set vivid, detailed goals for the future, and live in the only moment of time over which you have any control: now." -Denis Waitley

I can be REALLY judgmental in the weight room (in my head) which sucks because if more women (/people) lifted the world would probably be a better place. And most people who shy away from the weight room probably do so because they don't want to be judged :/
That being said...
I get annoyed by women (hell men too! ha) who wear next to nothing for whatever reason (honey, doing RDLs in booty shorts is not a good choice).
I get annoyed by the dumb frat bros who cut their t-shirts so much they might as well walk around shirtless (except you look like ****, so please don't).
I get annoyed by ANYONE (mostly dudes) who takes up a squat rack for quarter squats. Esp. if it's a weight above 315lbs that I know damn well they couldn't squat to parallel.
I get annoyed by loud shouting, usually by the group I've termed "powerlifting bros" who are obnoxious and do so just for the attention. They also take up multiple racks and leave tons of stuff sprawled out into the walkway. This is during peak gym hours.
I get annoyed by the personal trainers who are around my age and don't know crap.
I get annoyed by really super smelly people who clearly have not heard of deodorant.
But I think all of these things, or rant to my boyfriend but would never say anything. Because it's judgmental crap and I know it. They have a right to be there as much as I do.
Besides, there's really great things I see in the gym that make me happy. There 2-4 girls I see regularly who lift with good form and know wtf they're doing. There's a guy who busts out ATG front squats that remind me that I need to stretch more often. And there's a handful of other good lifters who squat, bench, deadlift, in addition to doing other exercises that make sense. I figure seeing around 10 solid workers on a campus of 40,000 isn't too much to complain about

I don't really get annoyed. I'm a big girl and lift heavy and take my time and observe everyone. I like to encourage other people that are working hard regardless if it's my power-lifting buddy or the overweight dude that's sweating all over the place. I also like people to tell me if I'm doing something wrong or if they have a tip on training I'm open to it. I am a bit judgmental though. I know I shouldn't be but I get looks all the time like "why is that fat girl putting so much weight on that bar." SO, I can't help but laugh in my head when the skinny fat girls get on the cardio machines and chat and never break a sweat or they go over to the rack and pick up the paper weights.
Oh as for the creepers...I do admit to looking at everyone's behind. It's a bad habit and I've been busted several times. LOL

I try not to stare or judge people in the gym but I do have some pet peeves. The guys (and I've seen girls) that wear the cut out shirt that barely covers their front and back. I mean c'mon...
Girls only doing cardio. (but I love the fact that if means I have more of the weight area to myself)
Girls who use 5 pound dumbbells for everything..
People talking obnoxiously loud on their cell.
Those who are in the way just sitting around doing nothing.
And as nice as they intend to be, the guys who feel they need to offer to help me remove weights or move stuff. I got this...unless I ask. :P
And the most annoying thing I face at my gym is constantly being vacuumed around! Who vacuums around your feet while your squating or doing other potentially harmful exercises if distracted? I almost dropped dumbbells on my face out of suprise from the vacuum being cut on right behind me!

I would probably be considered a creeper. i just like to look, dont know why.
When i do see women lifting its awesome and makes me feel motivated.
As far as the cardio bunnies, i was there once and i just hope someday they will learn
Pet peeves?
1. Roided out guys that think they own the gym
2. Teenage boys that make fun of the overweight people (couldnt make me angier)
3. People who hog the squat and deadlift racks for hours.
4. Girls/guys that dont wear enough clothes.
5. Guys that stare..and stare.. and stare. Yes im a girl lifting weights, get over it.

No hate for anyone. I get annoyed by people who don't re-rack their weights, hog equipment, or block equipment. But not even that much.
I could care less if other women are doing cardio only and no weights. Or if they are doing an exercise that I can't see the benefit of. I have no idea what their goals or, or what they are training for. What might be "wasting time" for me could be critical to a sport they do. At the end of the day, the only person I need to worry about is me and whether I am meeting MY goals.https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=17995794

There aren't really other females in the actual weight lifting areas at my gym and if there were I don't think I'd care anyways as long as nobody's in my way. It does bother me when those stupid trainers (male and female) hook up that trx thing in a power rack for like an hour and I need to get in there for heavy OHP or something. It's right up there with curling in the squat rack. The actual members in my gym seem ok, but honestly it's the trainers who are completely unaware - not reracking weights/putting back equipment, even had some dumbass trainer stand wayyy too close to me mid-squat, almost hit him with the bb (it was tempting but I didn't want to tweak my back or anything by slamming into him with a bb on my back), and actually had to yell at him mid-rep to get the F out of my way. Also had to yell at some trainer for parking himself and his client directly between the power rack and the mirror while I was in the middle of a row set trying to watch my form.
The members seem cool though, each person is there for their own reason so good for them.Current PRs:
Bench Press: 200x1
Deads: 315x1
Back Squats: 275x1
