He was charged by police last night. Due to be sentenced in July.
They found over 1200 images of children, the majority being at level 3. They also found over 200 video clips of child sex abuse, some as long as 60 minutes in length.
Aged 38, no wife no kids. Quiet, awkward type... just got on with his work. A first time offender - no previous criminal record. We always had him as the sad, asexual passive type to be honest, until this came out.
Wow, feelsbadman.gif.
dibs on chances he'll be jailed or will he get a community order?

well his life is phucked. the place I interned at last summer had a guy that did have a wife and kids and was caught with child porn. He was fired obviously, not sure what else happened to him. I'm pretty sure he went to jail, I just remember hearing a coworker saying "if it was just regular porn, they would have just fired him. but it was kiddy porn so ...." and don't remember the rest

He will definitely become a registered sex offender for life, which means his sexual misconduct will become open to the public. That means he will be vilified where ever he chooses to live, for as soon as one neighbor discovers his status the whole entire neighborhood will know it.
And because he committed a felony (I think), he will have harshly restricted job opportunities. And his freedom to travel abroad will be restricted; many countries will not allow convicted felons and/or sexual offenders to travel to their country (e.g. Japan). Hell, he may not even be able to get a passport, period.
I feel all the sympathy in the world for younger guys who get screwed over by over-developed, manipulative 17 year olds pretending to be 18+ year olds, and do not think they deserve the above penalties.
But I have no sympathy for what your colleague was doing, if I'm understanding it clearly. The more mass you have, the more ass you get.
The more cash you make, the more class you get.
