    Need advice on weight loss.

Hey everyone, I'm new to joining this site(As you can see... 1 post, lol.) but I surf often.

About 2 1/2 months ago I decided to turn my life around by hitting up the gym. I started at 259.6 pounds, I'm 5'11, and almost never am active but love being active just never was. I started March 1st, and now it's May 13th, I weigh 234.5. I find this to be a great achievement, but I don't notice much of difference in the shape of my body, even after losing about 25lbs. Though my waist is much smaller by inches, from 40-42 to 36-38. I have WAY more energy than before, and I've quickly upped my tolerance in weight within the two months.

My first month I only started doing 10-15 minutes of cardio(elliptical), full body machine circuit, then finished with 10-15 minutes of cardio. 2 Weeks in I started using Ephedrine with Caffeine, which helps a lot energy wise and is cutting my weight.

Second month I switched it to my own style, I start with 10-15 minutes of cardio, hit a mat and do 3 sets of pushups, situps, and wallsits, then move onto shoulder machine, pec machine, upper back, lower back, and biceps, then finish with 10-15 of cardio.

Now I'm starting free-weights with my brother. I eat about 1500-1900 calories worth a day.

What I'm getting at is, am I doing fine? Am I losing weight too quickly? Will I get loose skin at this rate(This is my biggest concern), and why am I not noticing much change in my body shape :s?

TL;DR - Working out, losing weight, ephedrine with caffeine, prevent loose skin, how am I doing?

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate all the help you guys can give. This will also add to my motivation, seeing as I am lacking it a little bit due to the fact that I'm not seeing any physical change in my body after losing this much weight.

Oh and I go like 4-6 times a week.

Not sure quite what you want...?

You're caloric intake is too low, unless your significantly changing you weight training routine, your routine is bad.

I want to lose weight without having excess skin, that's my goal.

    My routine:

Day 1 - Chest/Triceps(4-5 exercises per muscle) 10-15 minutes of cardio at start and end
Day 2 - Biceps/Back(4-5 exercises per muscle) 10-15 minutes of cardio at start and end
Day 3 - Shoulders/Legs(4-5 exercises per muscle) 10-15 minutes of cardio at start and end
    Day 4 - 45-60 minutes of cardio

    Rinse and repeat.

I'm more concerned about losing weight than gaining muscle.

Well since I've started weight training I've toned up a lot. Not lost a lot of weight/fat/inches, but have toned up way more comparing to when I use to do more cardio and pilates. Only cut your calories by around 300-500 cals per month. Don't eat junk food/ saturated, trans fats and refined sugars. These kinda things. When you're starting out you shouldn't really be taking supplements unless they're natural like whey then that's OK, your body will get use to them and then you'll suffer with changing your body for the better later on. Go slow and the best way to lose fat and ONLY fat is to fix up on your nutrition, do aerobics frequently and include regular weight training. (:

    Good luck.

Thanks Leyla, you're definitely right. I have to fix up my intake on basically everything. Even eating less, the problem is I don't eat RIGHT. I'll try and incorporate your advice soon .

Are you Turkish? I ask because of your name.

    ...No.

Why would the source be relevant to weightloss? If you're in a significant caloric deficit, you will lose weight.

But would it not be better to eat a well balanced diet (deficit), or does it not matter for weight-loss?

From a health perspective of course it would be better.

But if you're eating x calories, you're eating x calories.

Ultimately, weight gain or loss simply comes back to the total caloric intake. Address that, then suitable macronutritional intake, THEN worry about the source.

    Alright, thanks a lot.

Do you have any advice on loose/excess skin? Like how to prevent, or to make it not happen when losing weight. Also, what would be a healthy amount of weight to lose weekly/monthly?
