How long did it take you to get big arms?

This is a question to all of you with big arms (15 inches+)

How long did you guys spend training to achieve your arms?

Please also post your starting arm width if you know it.

Im 15 and i have 14 inch arms. But all i do is normal curls 3 sets of 10 with 40lb dumbells. Then some hammers 3 sets of 25 with 25lb dumbells. Basically thats all you have to do you can throw in another couple excercises if you want. Hope this helps.

Curls suck for biceps. You need to do weighted pull ups for biceps. Your ticep though is 2/3 your arm, so train your triceps alot with floor press, close grip bench, and weighted dips.

if you want big arms, should work your triceps instead of biceps...

i do skull crusher superset wit NC benchpress... throw in few sets of rope pull down if not too tired coz i work my tris after chest (bench pressing, etc.)

    Nah bro. Compounds are important.

Dont tell me your bi's dont hurt after chin ups. Or you tris hurt after benching/presses.

Big compounds, then a few iso's.

What he said, big compounds then a few isolation towards the end of your workout seem to be the way I would do it.

Big arms come from heavy rowing, pull ups, bench, dips, and heavy compound lifts. Add in a few iso workouts and your good to go. 15s aint big though, I got 16s and they still look weak to me. Gimmie some 20s k thanks.

I've yet to achieve big arms, I feel like my arms will be big when I have 23s or bigger.
My goal is to get as big as possible while weighing under 200lbs.

Mines center of bicep 13.5 inch, near shoulder 14.5 inch, to be honest with u , I can get it much bigger anytime soon, my arm tend to grow much bigger and quicker than the rest of my body (except my leg, my leg grows quiet quickly too).

The reason I stopped growing my arm and focusing mainly on cutting has to do with disproportion. I need to grow shoulder and chest bigger, to get the V shape and to look proportionate.. My disproportionate big arms just don't make sense.

So I strongly advise u to look at mirror first, instead of growing arm.. u probably want to wokout on some other parts first.

big bone structure is great never have any joint pain or ankle issues, but it makes muscles look smaller than they really are. not that i mind

Honestly bicep size is tough to tell in some cases. A lot can depend on arm length and body fat content. I would consider 19+ to be large. Like aforementioned, compounds are key, then isolations.

I went from 11 inch arms to 15 inch arms in relatively about a year of training

dedicate a day to just training your arms, train both biceps and triceps ATLEAST 2x a week, once through movements like pushing/pulling, and the other day through direct work like curls and extensions. it all depends on how you handle frequency, I've always been able to hit my arms 3 days a week although I don't really directly train them anymore because I train for powerlifting now. if I do curls or extensions it's usually accessory work after my pushing and pulling. I've noticed less arm gains though ever since I took away my arm day, my arms have only grown 1 inch in the past 6 or 7 months opposed to the 5 inches I gained in my first year when I had an arm day.

    cliffs:
have a day once a week dedicated to training just your arms

Took me a year - year and a half. Literally had like 10 inch arms when I started. I have ~16.25' now.
