What happens if I do? Is there a high risk of injury, or will I just be stuck at the bottom lol. With the ROM I use I can't really squat lower than I do on a normal rep so I'm wondering what would happen.

Nah
It is frustrating, irritating, disappointing or something along those lines. Safety bars are there for a reason.
I am pretty sure that in the past year I have only bailed on three total squat reps. Two back and one front. Both of the back squat bails I have on video. One was the last rep of an attempted 345x5, the other was the last of the attempted 350x5 I just posted. They were many months apart though

i tried it till failure once.. not the best idea in the world.
but it goes well beyond that.
You pay your dues every time you squat. You pay them every
time you choke down another can of tuna. You pay them every
time you puke. This is what you pay just so you can respect
yourself and call yourself a man. This is membership in
the brotherhood of iron.

lol yes!
It's not hard. If you are benching PROPERLY you won't have the bar over your face or neck unless your arms are locked out anyway. You also will not use a thumbless grip.
If you fail the bar should be over your chest. Assuming you aren't benching in your basement by yourself with collars on, etc, a heavy barbell on your chest isn't really that big of a deal. I got pinned in my parents basement once or twice years ago...I did the roll down and sit up once and the tilt it till plates fall off the end once.
It's not a very big deal if you do it right
